76  Calculator Community / Other Calculator Discussion and News / {solved} Is it impossible to get an 84+ keypad? on: 07 June, 2011, 21:45:39
Spoiler for Original Post:
Quote from: Back of TI-Nspire packaging
TI-84 Plus Keypad - Available at no additional cost
[...]
How to get your TI-84 Plus keypad:
1. Log on to education.ti.com/84keypad
2. Complete the online form. Your TI-84 Plus Keypad will be sent to you at no additional charge.

There, said twice that I can get an 84+ keypad for free. So I created an account, and registered my calculator, and guess what the education.ti.com/84keypad website looks like?

Where is the online form I should complete? I am logged in and my calc is registered, but the website still tells me to log in and register. Huh? What do I do now? And I'm not taking "just go buy one online", because I was told I could get a free keypad, and I want my free keypad.

79  Calculator Community / Lua Language / Codes for touchpad, arrow keys, select button, other keys? on: 05 June, 2011, 21:46:38
I know this code is correct for the up arrow

1
2
3

Do I just replace the Up in on.arrowUp with whatever direction? and also: Does anyone here know what the Lua codes for detecting what happens with the touchpad, select button, and other keys?
80  Calculator Community / Other Calculator Discussion and News / Some CX questions on: 04 June, 2011, 02:33:26
I was all w00t when I saw you could buy a CX now: link yay

I have a few questions, numbered so I can easily match up q's and a's:

1. Can the CX do percents?
2. Does it use a computer-like UI, just like the the standard Nspire?
3. Does it have a computer mouse, like older Nspires?
4. How much storage and RAM is available to use?
5. What can we program on it?
6. Can it do 3D graphing?
7. How many colors are available?
8. How many can we use in programming?
9. How fast and powerful is it?
10. How long does the rechargeable battery last?
11. The battery is built-in, right?
12. Can we charge it through the computer?
13. How accurate is the touchpad?
14. Can you type on it?
15. Why are there so few buttons? Are all of the functions accessible through menus?
16. Any sound capabilities?
17. What ports does it have? What link capabilities does it have?

Thanks in advance!  Grin
81  General Discussion / Miscellaneous Discussion / What is this Frontier Communications thing? on: 28 May, 2011, 03:04:57
I was looking for this physics program called 'Phun' and I went to the website and I was directed to this:

http://assist2.searchguide.frontier.com/search?qo=phun.cs.umu.se&rn=tw6OawiBaWxONc7

What is assist2.searchguide.frontier.com? When I go to assist2.searchguide.frontier.com, I get the really old Internet Explorer Page cannot be displayed error - and I don't have IE either! And alot of the websites I go to, I get some random Frontier search thing.

And not only on our Wi-Fi at home, but un my uncle's too! We get ours from a completely different ISP, so has anyone else seen this?
82  Calculator Community / Casio PRIZM Hacking Discussion / Should I get a Prizm? on: 25 May, 2011, 22:22:16
Well, should I? My 9860Slim has been acting up... well.... ever since I got it. And I would like a Prizm.

But I have a few questions: How is the Basic? Is it as good as 68k Basic?

What colors can I use in programming?

Are there any other reasons to get one besides it is new and has a color screen?
83  Calculator Community / Other Casio Calculator Discussion / String support on: 24 May, 2011, 00:33:41
I have came to the conclusion that my calculator has no string support!

My various responses were Shocked Huh? Cry shocked Sad Angry Frustrated Crazy Mad <_<

Then I was informed there was an fx-9860G Slim OS 2.0 at one time and it is on Casio Bank now. w00t I downloaded it and I have yet to install it.

Will this OS 2.0 have string supports? Mainly putting strings into variables (need).
84  General Discussion / General Technology and Hardware Discussion / Commodore 64c on: 16 May, 2011, 03:20:58
I've been thinking about getting a Commodore 64c - I've always been interested in old electronics and games.
So what do you think?
It's all BASIC - I'm learning BASIC, and this would be awesome.

Oh looky: A C64c for $55? Shocked

It would be very cool. Grin
85  General Discussion / Computer Usage and Setup Help / [ SOLVED ] Ubuntu help - can't copy files - permission denied? on: 15 May, 2011, 22:32:44
Ok so I got a Commodore emulator called VICE - and I found out I need to get roms for it to work.

So I did.

Here's the problem - I'm dragging the necessary c64 ROMS to the c64 folder in the VICE lib folder, just like the read me said - when I was hit with an error:

There was an error moving the file into /usr/lib/vice/C64.
Error moving file: Permission denied

Crazy WHAT? How could permission be denied? What should I do now?
86  Calculator Community / TI-Nspire Projects / Atari emulator on Nspire? on: 10 May, 2011, 12:52:57
I wanted to ask this after I saw the C64 emulator idea thread.

Would an Atari 2600 emulator be possible? Maybe a higher system?
87  Calculator Community / Other Calculator Discussion and News / TI-Nspire CAS Clickpad Question? on: 09 May, 2011, 00:27:27
Alright I've been looking at the Nspire Clickpad and I have a question.

The Non-CAS is $159  Shocked

The CAS is $63  w00t

Does the CAS have less features then the Non-CAS?

If not, why doesn't it cost as much as the Non-CAS?

88  Calculator Community / Other Calculator Discussion and News / Can I do anything with my TI-30XIIS? on: 07 May, 2011, 14:25:46
It's so basic and boring.

Seems like I could make it do something better.

Is there any way? I'm fine with replacing stuff inside of it, to an extent.

I'm sorry if this is in the wrong thread. Please move it if it is. Smiley
89  Calculator Community / Other Casio Calculator Discussion / Possible to screen capture...? on: 05 May, 2011, 23:48:55
I want to try the Screen Capture function on the FA-124 software... but it's grayed out when the program recognizes the calc.

Ok a screenshot from the program... The calculator is plugged in the computer and is on the receive mode, but FA-124 doesn't know that.
The two menu options are selectable.

This is weird. Shouldn't they be grayed out because there is no calc connected...?

And the menu items are grayed out when FA-124 recognizes the calc:

What is going on??  Crazy Frustrated Huh?
90  General Discussion / General Technology and Hardware Discussion / Project DreamPad - Now a calc. on: 03 May, 2011, 21:41:02
I'm sorry if this is in the wrong section. If it is, please move it.

I called it Project DreamPad. It's just an idea, a concept.

I was inspired by the TOcalc project. After I've seen that project, I wanted to make a pocket PC-type thing. I decided on a device for programming -- a device that had a small full QWERTY keyboard on it that would have interpreters and IDEs for main languages (C++, ASM, Basic, Python, etc. Maybe even HTML?) so the programmers could just put the program on their DreamPad and write programs on the go!

Still debating on the shape, should it be a tall rectangle (TI-84+ shape) or shaped like a TI-92? Or all touchscreen?
