1  General Discussion / Miscellaneous Discussion / Re: AP Tests on: 01 May, 2013, 02:05:12
So, AP Tests are coming up, and what kind of AP tests (if any) do you guys have?
I'll take on May 8th AP Calculus AB and BC
You can't take the two tests at the same time... unless you mean that you're taking AP Calculus BC, which encompasses AP Calculus AB in material and whose test provides an AB subscore as well.
2  Calculator Community / OTcalc / Re: OTZ80 - Remember it? :D on: 20 April, 2013, 05:22:18
NECROPOST, MY FRANNS!
I'm somebody who takes interest in this stuff.
I could find uses for an SD card capable, Wifi using, super calculator. I'd design it for Debian ARM or something.
Where did this project ever go?
Gah, and I thought someone had interest in, you know, actually taking over this project.... Tongue

Debian ARM designing? That's probably harder than designing a Z80 calc! And Wifi using? Good luck convincing CollegeBoard.

This project is 99.9% dead. After taking a Digital Electronics class, I kinda realized that the skills I were learning isn't enough to design, say, a Z80 calculator. It'll take another 4 years in college to do that! Wink (Talk to me in 4 years if you really want me to work on this. Chances are that I'll either be busy considering grad school or actually working...)

As for now, I have 0 motivation to work on this project, lacking any skills myself and any potential assistance for this project. I've also kinda moved away from calculator development in general, so... yeah, consider this dead until further notice.
3  Omnimaga / News / Re: TI bans community calculator emulation on: 23 February, 2013, 06:49:52
I think TI was aiming at prohibiting something like BootFree. At the same time, TI is also (likely) trying to hinder emulator development for the TI-84 C by forcing emulator developers to buy the device and tinker with it before being able to write a good emulator. Two birds with one stone (or EULA clause)!

Though to be honest, I wouldn't be surprised if they decided in the future to sneak something in the EULA for the calculator (box label and such) prohibiting use of it at all for dumping ROMs and emulating... assuming they haven't done this already! (Or are planning to when they release the TI-84+ C)

ZNC can be configured via the /znc commands or via a web admin panel (MUCH easier), found here:

ZNC Update - 02/17/2013

Importance: IMPORTANT
Author: alberthrocks
Date: Sun Feb 17 19:23:00 EDT 2012

We have updated ZNC to v1.0! The new release (a jump from 0.x!) supports multiple networks on one username!
As a result, the following changes have been made: (some of this adapted from the ZNC changelog)

 * Your username is now USERNAME, not USERNAME-NETWORK. You need to change your auth config!
 * To login to ZNC, use user/network:password as password, or user/network as username. Also, you can switch between different networks on the fly using the /znc JumpNetwork command. A network called "default" has been created for each user - EFNet is the current "default". Settings from each user are moved into these "default" networks. When you log into ZNC without setting a network, the "default" network will automatically be chosen for you.
 * Users can create new networks up to an admin-configurable limit. By default, this limit is one five networks per user.
 * You can see a list of networks via /znc ListNetworks and /znc ListAllUserNetworks.

Sorry for the inconvenience! We hope that you enjoy the new ZNC! Please report any problems that you encounter with the new version!

If you would like a ZNC account, please post in the thread mentioned on this topic's first post!

6  Omnimaga / Site Feedback and Questions / Re: The future of Omnimaga: What admins have been up to lately? on: 13 February, 2013, 04:34:32
Even though I'm a high school senior, I continue to work as hard as I can to maintain good grades, and it's hard and time-consuming! (And on top of that, I do a lot of work in FIRST Robotics, which is coming up...)

Nevertheless, I still maintain the Omnimaga services that I host. The only reason things have been going down is because my VPS provider is being silly - and my response is rather slow Tongue Sorunome has taken over (for the most part) OmnomIRC coding and features, as well as the New post bot, both of which are hosted on withg.

As for others, 57o9's going poof has been a major activity decrease causer (at least on IRC), since a lot of data (and accounts) were on that server. It's not even known if the data is recoverable at all. (In case withg users are wondering, the main server withg.org has daily backups, though I'm planning to change backup providers soon. Hmm, that's where my money is being drained... Tongue)

So yeah, the "state of the Omnimaga" from my perspective. Tongue

As for withgusto, I do not plan to shut it down for a loooong time. Smiley If anything big, I may decide to sell it to someone and let them take over. However, I will be eventually moving to a 100% donation-supported service, since I will be going to college soon and footing the massive tuition bill! (No worries - from time to time, I will pitch in. If it ever comes to a point where donations stop, I'll backup all the data and make sure at least 2 admins have it before it is shut down.)
7  Calculator Community / nSDL / Re: nSDL 1.1.1 Anniversary Edition—The Ultimate TI-Nspire Graphics Library! on: 01 February, 2013, 05:51:27
Oh wow, well I'm glad I found out about this before leaving. There was one big issue with 1.1.0; I'll quote:

BTW, about the SDL_GetTicks() issue you mentioned earlier, it was my fault. I had completely forgotten to uncomment a line in nSDL that enabled bus access for the timer, and consequently it worked on the emulator but not one the actual hardware (i.e., it returned always 0). It was extremely dumb and careless from me, but I've updated it now, SDL_GetTicks() should work now (I've tested it on both physical calculators, everything runs smoothly).

Let's just pretend that 1.1.0 never existed. Get Ninja'd
Woo, glad to here that issue is fixed! I guess I can start a (not so) secret porting project again! Wink
8  Omnimaga / Site Feedback and Questions / Re: OmnomIRC timeout error on: 27 January, 2013, 03:48:08
This is getting a tad bit annoying, so I'm going to go ahead and request for the server to be moved to a happier home. Smiley (Faster server in my VPS provider)

Downtime may result from this, so please use IRC when it goes down!
9  General Discussion / Anime and Mangas / Soul Eater Quote Source Search on: 27 January, 2013, 01:17:56
I'm working on a research paper, and I'm using Soul Eater as a source! However... the quotes I've found are not cited, which is pretty important for a research paper.

Could you guys help me find the location of each quote? My source is the manga, though it's likely that it also came from the anime as well. My source preference is the manga, but if it's anime-only, please tell me!

Spoiler for Quotes:
“People fear because they imagine. Imagination is the power of all the emotions combined. People imagine things because they do not understand them. It’s more terrifying imagining a future that provides more pain. It’s not that people are not afraid to die. They are scared to imagine…death.” - Kishin Asura

“The truth cannot be held by clinging to order coated with rhetoric and lies. Covering up what is inconvenient and ignoring the real issues, will not hide the rips in the skin. Is providing false peace really that noble?” - Kishin Asura

"Wouldn't it be nice to have a strong mind, one that can get rid of the fear you feel?" -  “Little Demon”

"Everybody huh...then it’s just like madness." - Kishin Asura

"I do not deny evil, nor do I believe that any human is completely free of malice. Everything must be in balance. As long as evil and good maintain an equilibrium in this world there is no problem. Perfect balance is the key to everything." - Death The Kid,

"Let me ask you this; Where does this knowledge of yours come from? This ability to know right from wrong? - There is no inherent good and evil in the world those labels are just artificial constructs. - Right and Wrong are determined by the people who hold positions of authority, that's the way it's always been so how then can anyone know this truth you speak of? - Don't you see the reality is that truth long ago became nothing more than a shadow of itself, it's a mere echo of the past now. - "You're wrong!" - Idealistic boy! The world is one big moral 'grey area' it just makes you feel safer to believe that it can be carefully categorised into good and bad. That's not actually how it works! - "You're Wrong!!" - Why are you so determined about this, kid? - "Why are you still refusing to answer any of my questions!? What information are you so desperate to keep hidden? - Hmm..." - Dr. Franken Stein

"We were friends once, so let me offer you a piece of advice: You should be careful about hiding behind authority and blinding yourself to the realities of the world, might cause you your life someday ...or somebody else's" - Kishin Asura

"We were born as weapons and we loved the power that came with it. Nothing could scare us. We walked around town like we owned the place, taking whatever we wanted whenever we wanted it. No one ever thought to ask what our lives were really like." - Elizabeth "Liz" Thompson

"I'll remove your threat ONCE AND FOR ALL! I am the guardian of this world, it is my job to make sure you do no further damage to it!"  - Lord Death.

EDIT: Also, if the person cited is incorrect, please let me know as well!

OmnomIRC should now be back up. Thanks for being patient!

12  Omnimaga / Site Feedback and Questions / Re: OmnomIRC timeout error on: 26 January, 2013, 15:57:36
I currently host OmnomIRC, and I'm sorry for the downtime! My VPS provider is having some issues on their side, so my VPS node is currently down, therefore making my VPS (and OmnomIRC) down. Rest assured - this isn't a hit-and-run VPS provider, and this issue should hopefully be fixed soon!
13  Omnimaga / OmnomIRC and SpyBot45 development / Re: Omnom Bug? on: 01 January, 2013, 04:07:18
Maybe they're trying to get you to switch to Windows or Mac hosting? Trollface

Also I had no problem accessing Omnom at all. Maybe it only affected people who cleared their cache or that it was due to CloudFlare not updating in my region for a while?
Psh... Mac hosting doesn't exactly exist. For good reasons. Wink
14  Calculator Community / Other Calc-Related Projects And Ideas / Re: TiLP (and TilEm) Debian/Ubuntu Packages on: 29 December, 2012, 20:24:12
Wow, cool, that would be awesome if you could do that!
Thanks juju!
You should /add/ it to the omni repo, not make a new repo Tongue
You can't maintain a Arch repo on Launchpad... Tongue

I don't know for tilem-ng, but Arch has had packages for libti*/gfm/tilp for a long time Smiley

And thanks to you, alberthro, jacobly and the others Wink
Likewise. It's great working with you guys, and I look forward to more progress for times to come. Smiley
15  Calculator Community / Other Calc-Related Projects And Ideas / Re: TiLP (and TilEm) Debian/Ubuntu Packages on: 29 December, 2012, 19:37:21
This is pretty awesome! Cheesy
And, will these packages also be added to the arch repro? Cheesy
No, I'm just a Debian packager, and will probably stay that way for the foreseeable future. AFAIK, Jonimus manages the Arch (AUR) packages. Eeems also manages an AUR repo on my server, though he does not package libti*, TiLP, GFM, or TilEm. Bug them about it! Wink
