9  Omnimaga / News / First Omnimaga POTY win ever! on: 07 January, 2010, 05:36:18
For the first time ever, an Omnimaga staff has won a Ticalc.org Program Of The Year award. Had the old Omnimaga forums not shutted down on Jan 1st 2008, this would be the second one (after Ranman's Ultima V game for the 68k). The 2009 Omnimaga POTY win is TI-Boy SE, Calc84maniac's Game Boy emulator for the TI-84+ series, leading by far the poll in amount of votes.

On the 68k side, TI-Freakware has won their 3rd straight POTY award with Metroid, after winning it with Super Mario 68K and Ultima V: Warrior Of Destiny the two previous years.

2009 POTY was also the first one ever to feature a TI-81 program: TI-81 ASM Hook Interrupt, to install ASM on certain TI-81 models.

On the PC side, RabbitSign won.

Congratz to this years POTY winners. Results can be found there:

My parents let me program all I wanted mainly because my dad was a former programmer, knowing how code works though has really helped me it turned one of the hardest courses at our school, java into a blow-off class.
