EDIT: Chrono Tiger? methinks it's Trigger
Chrono Tiger sounds fun :3

I always liked Secret of Evermore a lot. Secret of Mana and TinTin were also great fun. And of course all the mario games. I really should play on my SNES again sometimes Cheesy

Don't forget Uncharted Waters: New Horizons. (New horizons is a sequel, but it's better and the storyline isn't connected) It's a seafaring game.

The Soul Blazer trilogy on the SNES is quite good as well. I never tried the first game, but the 2nd game Illusion of Gaia and the 3rd one Terranigma (which came out in Europe and Japan but not North America) are really great classics. Terranigma is very hard, though, because you get stuck all the time and puzzles can be hard to solve.

Brain Lord doesn't seem too bad either (it's in the same style).

Also one game I liked to play a lot is Metal Warrior. It's some sort of robot platformer, but the multiplayer deathmatch style was really enjoyable as well Smiley

And of course Lufia I and II. If you play it, though, play the 2nd one first, because it's actually a prequel to the first, despite coming out 3 years later. Also you might find the battle system of the first a bit annoying, because if the entire party selects 1 enemy and he dies halfway through, the remaining characters will still try to attack his spot even if the enemy is gone, rather than automatically selecting another monster, a problem also seen in Final Fantasy I and II for the NES.

Star Ocean as well.

One game that seems more interesting for its sound quality than the game itself is Super Adventure Island. I never really tried the game itself, although it seems quite good, but despite dating back in Early 1992, the music sound quality is on-par with the Nintendo 64, Playstation 1 and maybe even better than some PS2/Gamecube games with similar music. I'm not a big fan of the funk style music, though. It's just that the quality makes it sound like it's real music rather than an old console.
And of course all the mario games.
Except Mario is Missing and the 3 Mario Early Years games, I assume? Tongue

The best one I own: Super metroid. I really enjoy playing it. I keep finding new secrets/tricks to beat it faster. I also liked castlevania 4, but I think the whip is a bit overpowered. You just don't give a crap about the items anymore.

@DJ I totally agree. I actually loved all three of the soulblazer series separately, before I even realized they were a trilogy. BTW the first one is good too.

Does the Super Gameboy count? If not, then my personal favorite would be Mega Man X. Fond memories with that game. Smiley

A review complained about the graphics in the first one, but personally I didn't see much difference. They were quite similar to Illusion of Gaia/Time. However what I hate with the 2nd and 3rd game (Terranigma) of the series is that we always get stuck not knowing what to do next in the storyline and it really gets annoying (although not as brutal as Lunar on the Sega Saturn).

And nope the Super Gameboy doesn't count. We would need to start a GB thread for that. Tongue

I really like the weapon leveling system they put in the third one, and one thing you definitely can't complain about is the changes made from game to game. Each game added vast improvements to the last.

My favorite part of SoulBlazer 1 was the way you could cast magic at enemies at an off-angle using the spinny orb thing. It was annoying how magic cost money, though, and that monsters didn't regenerate.

Oh wow, that must be annoying indeed, especially considering how everything is expensive early in RPGs. X.x

For some reasons the 2nd game seems to be closer to Zelda style than the others too, with the heart pieces or something.

Well, it wasn't really an issue there since it was the only thing you used it for, but since most enemies don't regenerate, it meant you have a limited amount of magic to use.

Oh ok I thought you could buy items and stuff with it. As for not regenerating do you mean you have to re-enter dungeons or reload save files in order for enemies to reappear or do you mean once they're gone, they're gone forever? The latter would be bad shocked (I had this problem in Hybrid Heaven on the Nintendo 64 which made grinding very hard)
