well also depends on how many archons the protoss is placing into the vortex. 2~3 won't do much damage, but if protoss put in like 5~6 archons it can tear through pretty much any army

Yeah that's the archon toilet jsj was talking about. It doesn't work as well anymore but it still does heavy damage.

I wonder if there's a siege tank toilet in 2v2, where someone casts a vortex then you put a few tanks in siege mode nearby? Or maybe with thors?

actually there's something called baneling toilet. It can happen in 1v1 too, when protoss initiates vortex and archon toilet, you put in about 15~20 banelings in there, and when the vortex finishes, all the protoss ground units are obliterated Smiley

Yeah I know that one too and tested it. Back in 2010, however, vs terran marines only two banelings were needed, even if there were 200 marines or so. Epic stuff.

But yeah archons can be nasty. Even without the toilet 6 of them can take out an entire horde of mutas if they're stacked.

Also, in team monobattles, if a team got 2 stalkers, they're almost unbeatable unless most of the opponent units are T1 units, because they'll 4-gate and you cannot even fast expand. You pretty much need someone with lings to 6 pool or a protoss cannon rushing, delaying their production a bit. The most OP strategy in monobattles, though, is lifting off buildings in the map corner if the opponent got no air. Tongue
