The calculator community will see two old websites content be saved by admins of other sites now. In 2003, United-TI was founded as a result of a merge between multiple TI-83 Plus calculator sites, such as Cirrus Programming (notably known for its online hex disassembler, later revived by Galandros on Omni), Prokul Interactive, The Calc Site, and more. It then grew into one of the most active TI calculator forum and a TI-BASIC powerhouse, sort of, where many tricks were discussed and where many pure BASIC projects were released. However, following the community-wide activity slump in 2008, the departure of founders and other stuff, they never recovered and eventually died, while getting infested by spambots. In July 2011, their hosting service was also terminated.

With the future of United-TI being uncertain, Cemetech and UTI admins discussed about a possible merge with Cemetech database, reviving the UTI file archives in the process. Today this is official: United-TI will merge into Cemetech, allowing United-TI's history to be preserved instead of eventually disappearing entirely, like too many sites in the past did.

Back in late 2006, when Omnimaga future became incertain and activity started to dwindle, there were some discussions with United-TI about a possible merge, but they eventually got dropped, due to too much disparity between both site's TOS and the lack of available Invisionfree backups. As a result, Omni continued on its own for one more year before dying then being revived a few months later.

Besides this merge, CasioKingdom, which stopped being updated in 2009, became unuseable due to PHPNuke allowing hackers to render the site that way. No admin were contactable. Eventually, a project to save the website content and history, started and Casio-Scene was born. For now, the file archives restoration project is still under progress, but all posts from CK up to 2009 are backed up!

Yeah I was sad to see it would go away (although glad someone has stepped up to save the content from an inevitable deletion like Helder7 did with CasioKingdom). I haven't been as active on UTI as Cemetech, MaxCoderz and here, but I can tell it has a lot of history and a lot of good, bad and notable stuff have happened since I signed up in November 2003 (I was probably one of the only lower 3-digit member account to still be active somewhat).

Yeah I was curious about that too, since you were still active regularly and Weregoose, who is admin on UTI, was very active on Cemetech. I don't know for Digitan, though, since he seems to have disappeared too now...

He might assign mod privledges based on Cemetech site activity. (Which would be a negative for ya, since you're more active here.) As always, we'll have to wait and see.

Of course... you can always be a mod here! Cheesy

Actually she was moderator on Omni but eventually retired. However back then she had to moderate two sites at once and with the drama that was going on here that was a ton of pressure.

I guess you could always ask Kerm, though, about what being moderator on Cemetech would entail, the rules and other requirements. Of course as Alberthrocks says you could always join us back since our activity level is much more sustainable than it used to be a year ago (thus, less work to do Tongue), but I think the staff have changed activity policies so you would have to ask an admin if your summer absence would pose a problem (although seeing JustCause situation, I think you would be fine)

It's kinda sad to see UTI going down, since that was the first TI community forum I joined, but I am glad that it's being preserved. It's too valuable to lose completely.

So, yeah, I have a blog now. Nothing special, just your average ghost town.

Spoiler for Projects:
Spoiler for Pokemon TI:
Map engine is going to be redone from scratch, since I was lacking in organization last time. With a project as big as Pokemon, planning and organization is key, so that will probably be the brunt of the work done on this project for the time being.

Spoiler for Nostalgia:
Being worked on. Nothing really new to put here, but it's being worked on.

Spoiler for Finale's Super Insane Tunnel Pack of Doom:
I will be combining Blur and Collision Course into a single gamepack.

Spoiler for Nostalgia Origins: Sky's Story:
Currently on hold. I am unsure of whether this will remain DCS7 Hybrid BASIC or if it will use Batlib, Grammer or perhaps Axe.
This may see more progress once a demo of Nostalgia is released.

This should be interesting >.> Also, I have more posts on Cemetech than I thought o_O (only 125, though).

EDIT: And if I was a moderator for the UTI sections of the site, I'd still maintain a similar degree of activity (it would be proportional to the amount of activity on the boards Big smile)

IIRC it's gonna be read-only (hoping the Nspire hacking thread remains open, though), but since UTI kinda becomes part of Cemetech I guess you could moderate certain sections there (I was thinking the TI-BASIC and ASM sections?)

Wow, I'm a bit surprised at this. I guess I'll have to go check it out. I wonder if people that have UTI accounts are going to be merged into Cemetech's forums, or if this merger is mainly to serve as an archive for the old forum posts and files.
