Sometimes my life gets so busy that I can end up with little progress on S.A.D.  So on UnitedTI I started a tradition that if I haven't posted any progress updates in a week, I will post a random fact about S.A.D. to keep everyone interested and to show the project is not dead.  Starting with today's random fact, they will appear on omnimaga as well.

At the beginning of a normal multiplayer or skirmish game, you start out with enough money to build two refineries and an ACC.

nice. When the game is done (or close), I think you should maybe compile all random facts together so it could act as some tips and tricks distributed with the game. Remove the ones that might spoil way too much, though.

That's a neat idea and a cool fact.  Great "work".

S.A.D. will have some island maps, which further stresses the importance of a Scouter's Jet Pack ability.  However, maps will not have heighted terrain.

Heighted terrain might be a bit complicated x.x

I like islands idea, tho. Such maps always spice up the game because you have to use a different strategy

Sometimes water, sometimes cracks/chasms, sometimes lava, sometimes space, and whatever else a particular terrain might provide as uncrossable terrain.  On some maps, this could even be an area blocked by walls.

That's not a bad idea, maybe if there's an expansion or something.

That's right.  You can also teleport to said island if you have a Transformation Gateway/Operation Center set up on the island.  This is another reason that we have the Scouter-mining-resources option for players: if the teleportation building gets destroyed, the player could be stuck on the island if he doesn't have enough money to build another teleportation building.
