I'm think I'm going to participate. I started on a new game already, but there is something I still have to ask:

That reminds me to another qeustion: you can paticipate in 2 different category's or can you only choose 1? And if your in a team, is it then allowed to have 2 games in the same category at the same time?

@ben_g: That's valid, but you may lose originality points. Though your 3D engine is pretty unique already, so I doubt you will be penalized too much.

@stevon8ter, I believe you can participate in 2 different categories but even as a team you cannot have more than 1 entry in any single category.

I think it's possible to re-use code from a previous game, but as long as the new game is different. Originality points might be lost if too many old code is re-used, but I doubt the loss would have a considerable impact on your final score. It would kinda be like last year when Leafiness0 released Tag, which included some Graviter code.

Actually, I didn't reuse any Graviter code at all (except for the sprites) because it was so horribly written the first time around ^^ I wrote most of it from scratch.
