Figured I best knuckle down on making music; it's been almost a month since I released Cure? and I've not really produced anything else yet.
So, here's a track that I'm in the middle of tracking drums to. Unlike Cure?, I'm looking at this one being fully instrumental.
The track itself is heavily inspired by Dream Theater, in particular their track Stream of Consciousness. In fact, to be totally honest, it outright uses the same time-signature patterns. But, don't think I'm actively plagiarising another song; the history behind DT's song is that when they wrote it, they gave out the timings to everyone and organised a songwriting contest to fans to compose their own song. The contest itself ended back in 2003, but that doesn't mean it can be used nowadays. Smiley
At 2:41, it's still a preview (I've been sorting out the structure to it and it's looking to be a little on the lengthy side.. no spoilers, of course. Tongue), but you'll have to wait until the actual album is finished before you get your hands on the full version.

As I said, it's a preview, so the drums haven't been mixed properly (still in the composing stage) and only one guitar is on there (just to go with the drums).

Both parts will be incorporated into the final song.

I'M a bit late but this sounds pretty good. I hope it remains rock like in the 1st preview, though. (Second part reminds me some hip hop, although I assume you're adding or added guitar on it since you posted this, right?

I've added a fair amount more to the first section (Preview 1), but I've only got a demo recording. As for Preview 2, I'm not entirely keen on how that's turning out; I may either scrap that section entirely and not have a "second section" at all, or rewrite it.

Sounds good!
I had my headphone volume on absolute max when I played it, so I almost fell out of my chair. Tongue
