Hello all,

I'm one of the old Maxcoderz forum regulars and I have a small new project to announce that you may benefit from:

I've been getting more questions about the specifics of calculator linking recently. It appears that people are still interested in these things, so I figured "why not make a few videos to explain the basics, must be easier than doing it in writing" Smiley

So I've made two videos last weekend about controlling the link port and sending over bytes. I'm kinda busy for the coming period but when I have the time and inspiration I plan on making a few more on implementation issues, 3+ calc networking and the lot. Who knows.

The videos can be viewed here:

On the physical layer:
<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gZm8ksXdbgw" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gZm8ksXdbgw</a>

On the byte layer:
<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l3XXRUXVlmc" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l3XXRUXVlmc</a>

Or you can search for "Timendus link port" on youtube.

Cheers!

Hi Timendus, welcome here! I watched through your first video last night, and part of the second one. I don't know much about ASM or linking, but the videos seemed pretty straightforward. I wouldn't worry about your English either, it's extremely good. I know some people who have it as their first language that do not even speak it that well, so no worries. ^^

I misunderstood the title. I was really excited that you were going to show people how to play video that has been sent over the link port Grin

Anyways, I think you may have the first calculator video programming videos.

Thanks Camelot and Nightened, I hope it's of use to anyone Smiley

That's a great idea, why don't you implement that with what you learn from the videos Tongue

This is nothing. In my case, fully knowing who is Timendus since ages ago, I was sure he actually ported the entire Starcraft multiplayer game mode to the 83+ and that his video showcased it in action. shocked

Just kidding, welcome here and although I don't do any coding anymore, this seems pretty nice. In the past here there were people who had serious troubles understanding how to use the link port, particularly in ASM, so those videos might be quite useful in the future. Smiley
