In septembre 2011, we discovered a secret unreleased TI-Nspire model thanks to its OS which was updated together with the TI-Nspire CM-C one: the TI-Nspire CM-C CAS.

In novembre 2011, we even extracted its 2D skin hidden in the TI-Nspire software/OS, giving you an idea of how it would look like:

Today, TI-China has finally created the TI-Nspire CM-C CAS product page, together with the first 3D images! Grin

The TI-Nspire CM-C CAS is allmost identical with the TI-Nspire CM-C, except that you get the additional CAS engine.

There are some differences with the TI-Nspire CX:
  • chinese localised keypad
  • OS stuck in 4 languages: both english languages 'en' and 'en_GB', and both chinese languages 'zh_CN' and 'zh_TW'
  • only 32MB SDRAM like the old TI-Nspire ClickPad/TouchPad instead of 64MB
  • no dock or wifi connector, so no wireless TI-Nspire Navigator network connectivity - sensors can still be used but only with the mini-USB plug
  • use of an inferior battery: 800mAh instead of 1060mAh on TI-Nspire CX or 1230mAh on the optional battery for TI-Nspire TouchPad

Unlike the TI-Nspire CX-C, you can't install the english-chinese dictionaries.

Seems like a version for the people on a budget. I like it.

Would be fun to have this here. Maybe it would allow more people to afford a TI-Nspire? Tongue (But again maybe that would make richer people buy this new calc instead, meaning much less profits)

I like the cm calcs..they have more of a prizm-y personality (or just personality in general) than the other nspires.  If only it had the same amount of memory..but then I guess that's a selling point Tongue

Also random thought: how do slide cases work with that usb port?  Or are there any?  Looking at the page on TI's site only says stuff about a "screen cling", while the cx page mentions both that and a slide case. Undecided

Yeah I agree the design is quite good. I kinda prefer my TI-Nspire CX, though, even if it's a bit too square-ish-à-la-NES-controller for my needs.

I actually happen to own a CM sliding case TI gave me last summer (2011).
Here's a photo where you can see it (at the bottom) : http://tiplanet.org/images/tinscmc.jpg (Also, these are not my calcs Tongue)
I guess it covers the whole thing, not sure if sliding.

Hm, seems like it snaps on and has those tab(s) that stick out.

As far as I know, Casio is actively selling their prizm calcs since OS 1.04 in China. One more time, TI is running after Casio.
So if there wouldn't be Casio, TI had most likely not thought about stuff like color displays and MathPrint until now.

Apparently, the CX started being designed in February 2010 or so, before the PRIZM was made public. I am unsure for how long has the PRIZM been developped, though. Maybe it got leaked in 2009 or something so TI took no chance.

The dates embedded into multiple pieces of the CX's software do indeed indicate that the CX was being developed before the Prizm was made public.
