How's that?

I'm using one normal space ( ) followed by one full-width space ( ) in every empty square, and one normal space followed by the chess symbol in every square with a piece inside. As long as you keep it in that form it should look fine Smiley

Just an idea...
How about an IRC bot which hosts a chess game? The players type their moves like b2-b4 and the bot checks if the moves are valid/legal and prints the board.  Tongue

The only thing about that is that if you post enough lines the server may boot you for flooding. Maybe through DCC though

Not really, just make each piece an object, and make it follow the rules depending on the pieces ID, check against a rules class.
