TI-84 Plus & TI-84 Plus Silver Edition
OS 2.43
OS 2.55 MP SOME COMPATIBILITY ISSUES WITH GAMES/APPS

TI-Nspire

-OS 1.7.1.50
-OS 1.7.2741
-OS 2.0.0.1188 (Not recommended. Has a dangerous bug that can brick your calc via USB.)
-OS 2.0.1.60
-OS 2.1.0.631 (Requires Nleash to downgrade below 1.7 once installed. This OS is HUGE!)
-OS 3.0.1.1753 (WARNING!!!! USE TNOC TO GET RID OF Boot2 BEFORE INSTALLING, ELSE YOU CAN'T DOWNGRADE ANYMORE WITHOUT EXTRA HARDWARE!)

TI-Nspire CAS:
-OS 1.7.1.50 (Not compatible with CAS Touchpad models, even with a clickpad on)
-OS 1.7.2741 (Not compatible with CAS Touchpad models, even with a clickpad on)
-OS 2.0.0.1188 (Not recommended.

Hopefully they'll stay up for another while. OS 1.1 is not on TI site so I could not provide a link. Same for OS 1.2, which is for certain prototype CAS models, although as hint, this one is on a certain popular French TI site.

Special thanks to TI-BANK for providing the links to them: http://ti.bank.free.fr/index.php?mod=archives&ac=cat&id=OS . I give direct download links because TI-BANK server is hit by 500 server errors lately.

why is OS 2.0.0.1188  not recommended?

Because after Mic from TI-BANK installed it on his calc, his calc became bricked. Whether 2.0 was responsible for this or not is unknown.

We just discussed this on #omnimaga earlier, and there's a link to the translated TI-BANK topic where this was discussed:

Quote
[15:15:35] <+alberthro> why is 2.0.0 not recommended? crashy?
[15:15:51] <DJ Omnimaga> because of the incident with Mic calc
[15:16:04] <DJ Omnimaga> we have no confirmation that 2.0.0 was the cause of his calc death
[15:16:14] <+alberthro> ouch O_O
[15:16:16] <DJ Omnimaga> but he contacted TI about the calc and sent it to them
[15:16:22] <TC01> Wait, it got totally bricked?
[15:16:24] <DJ Omnimaga> and shortly afterward, OS 2.0.1 came out
[15:16:35] <DJ Omnimaga> which seems to be an indication that 2.0.1 fixes this issue
[15:16:40] <DJ Omnimaga> TC01 yeah
[15:17:28] <TC01> Did they give him a replacement?

Also if you check further pages on the TI-BANK forums, there are other people reporting the same issue with OS 2.0 on Univers TI-Nspire, linked there. They did not have Ndless installed.

Ah, nice, thanks!

Am I allowed to post the link to the site that sends me any OS I want, or would that be too risky?

No, because it leads to a unnoficial location where to find the OS and it might be best that it won't get hit by TI soon.

-OS 1.7.2741 (Ndless 1.7 beta compatible, but not with Touchpad)

As allready said, OS 1.7.2741 can be used on a non-CAS TouchPad.
You'll just need a ClickPad keypad, because it won't boot with a TouchPad keypad.

OS 1.7.2741 cannot be used on a CAS TouchPad to my knowledge.
It just won't boot with all of the 4 available keypads (ClickPad, 84+, non-CAS TouchPad, and CAS TouchPad).

But feel free to test again... Maybe there is a way...

I give direct download links because TI-BANK server is hit by 500 server errors lately.

You can be sure we are really angry at those errors... It's been more than a week now...

Oh right I forgot about the non-cas. Gonna edit that. Thanks for reminding me Smiley

As for the 500 errors, we got the same problem on Omnimaga, but it's far less worse than it was in mid-july and most of August-September, when students bought their calc and came to ask questions. Also it's much less worse than TI-BANK because our errors usually lasts about 5 minutes then the site gets back up, not to mention it occurs during certain hours in general (in France timezone, it would be from 21h to 22h, from 4h to 6h and around 10h). In October we also had some slow loading speeds sometimes.

I appended OS 2.43 and 2.53 MP (84+) to the first post. I didn't bother about 83+ OSes because the latest one is pretty fine.

I easily understand why the 2.43 OS still available on ti.com (even typing "1+1" on a 2.53MP may give you a "RAM Cleared" message...)

But why is the TI-83+ 1.16 OS still available on ti.com ? (and not 1.17 or 1.18...)
Are there some problems with OS 1.19 ?

It does??? O.o

Wow I didn't knew that. Now why 1.18 is not available is beyond me. I used it for years and had no issues with it. 1.17 was very unstalbe if I remember, though. Some people, back in 2004, reported that they couldn't run any ASM program properly or something from Ion. It came on some 83+ calcs but never got released on TI website.

I do not know if 1.19 has more issues than 1.18. I did not hear of any. Most bugs we found were present since OS 1.12.

1.16 is still around? Huh? Why, though?

And about 2.43, what does it mean by "Singapore approved"? Does TI Singapore realize how sucky 2.53MP is? Cheesy

Yes OS 1.16 is still available on ti.com.
That's why I've put it back on TI-Bank.

I found thanks to you guys, when you wrote about OS 2.43 being back online.
I've looked at the url, tried to change the version number, and I found this:

http://education.ti.com/downloads/files/83plus/TI83Plus_OS116.8Xu

Have fun downgrading ^^
I've tried similare changes with every z80/68k OS url, but didn't find anything else.
If you ever do, please tell us ^^
