A Rickroll in a SUPER MARIO WORLD HACK

I found this patch today on a ROM website (which I will not reveal for obvious reasons):

This is a Super Mario World (Super Nintendo) hack. The zip file contains an IPS patch you must apply to the original ROM (Super Mario World US version will do). And no don't ask for the ROM nor where to find it, it is illegal to redistribute ROMs. IPS files are fine, though. What's special about this SMW hack in particular is that it completly replaces the original game with a Rickroll. Those who thought the SNES could only do MIDI-style sounds, you are wrong. This rickroll is the original song in a surprinsgly high quality, playing with the original videoclip, altough in a very pixelated resolution, but still impressive considering it's for a Super Nintendo console. A SNES emulator is probably the most unexpected place to be rickroll'd. What's next? Well, if you want to try it out and even prank your friends, or hell, prank people who begs you for ROM files on MSN with this pretending it's a real game!

EDIT: I found a Youtube video of the hack in action in Zsnes (I personally tried the patched game in both Snes9x and Zsnes) but unfortunately the sound quality is bad and doesn't do the hack justice. Plus, the video description contain links to illegal download sites of you know what and I don't want that. I will try to post a video of it myself later with comments disabled.

It requires an USB cable and takes almost an hour to send to calc, though , because with my old serial cable it timeouts. There's always Wabbitemu tho.

Someone used that for an Earthbound mod with chrono trigger fiight styles. It was a cool idea, but fake. Rickroll FTW!

ohh yeah lol, ive known about xkashack for a loong time (ever since i was developing my smw hack). I even downloaded it too :p I probably still have it even..

But yeah the link has been down for almost a year because when UTI switched hosting provider, they did not carry all hosted sub-domains over, only the ones their respective owners requested. I did not send a request so omnimaga.unitedti.org was wiped. Also I lost access 2 years ago anyway.

My favorite part is really the song arrangment, though. It really sound cool and if it happens to be fake, then the arrangment really sounds legit. The rom hack is funny, though.
