This is gonna be my entry for Cage Match #3.
It's a prequel to Nostalgia that tells the story of Sky and his journey to stop the First War, as well as his witnessing of the birth of the Creator.
The war between the Great Beings split the world into factions: those who supported the light, and those who supported the dark. Only a few remained neutral.

It revolves around Sky:

And his best friend Kain:

They are seperated shortly before the events of the story. At the beginning of our tale, Sky is journeying to find the fortress where those who are neutral in this war reside.

During his quest, Sky meets two others whom he persuades to join him:

Kurai, the dark warrior:

And Hikari, the holy knight:

While you build up a team over the course of the game, battles are only 1v1. Sky is pitted against the enemy, but he can call upon his companions to perform special attacks or skills.
You control Sky throughout the game, btw.

So, yeah, I have a blog now. Nothing special, just your average ghost town.

Spoiler for Projects:
Spoiler for Pokemon TI:
Map engine is going to be redone from scratch, since I was lacking in organization last time. With a project as big as Pokemon, planning and organization is key, so that will probably be the brunt of the work done on this project for the time being.

Spoiler for Nostalgia:
Being worked on. Nothing really new to put here, but it's being worked on.

Spoiler for Finale's Super Insane Tunnel Pack of Doom:
I will be combining Blur and Collision Course into a single gamepack.

Spoiler for Nostalgia Origins: Sky's Story:
Currently on hold. I am unsure of whether this will remain DCS7 Hybrid BASIC or if it will use Batlib, Grammer or perhaps Axe.
This may see more progress once a demo of Nostalgia is released.

I take it this will either not be completely finished before the deadline, or it'll be way shorter than Nostalgia?  Shocked  Nevertheless, it looks great.  Wink  I can't wait for Nostalgia to come out, either.  Wink

It's gonna be way shorter.
It'll probably be closer to the length Nostalgia was originally gonna be (about 4-5 bosses).

/\that's still pretty insane.
if you're using the same/similar sprites/engine etc it might go a lot more smoothly, though

Cool project! I can,t wait. BASIC+DCS, right?

Also it's possible to make a RPG like this in 2 weeks. It requires you spend at least 5 hours a day coding, though. Also it can take longer if you have a lot of graphics to create.

Yeah, it is kinda small. I'm thinking of changing it from 8x7 to 8x8 and removing the area line at the bottom, but I'm not sure because it flickers more on-calc, and I'm not sure how that would affect it. The screen shot makes it flicker less, but the levels of grey are still quite distinct on-calc.

Wow that looks really great and fast for BASIC+libs shocked

I never got more than 4 fps with 3 level gs on a 84+, about 2-3 with 4 level. Good job so far.

One thing I notice, though, is that when the char goes out of the map, it shows up above the HUD.

I'm trying to figure out how to fix. I tried one way, but made the thing way more flickery. I have another idea, though...

And I still have to do collision. But that's what the mini-map is for, because pxl-Test() is probably one of the fastest methods of collision checking in BASIC.
