Also, regarding:

TNT
Alpha buys one, for 15 blocks. Mode uses it to wipe out the Column in front of you, and gives many points.

"Dying"
Zombies dont directly hurt you. They just overwrite your sprite, and leave it blank. You can do anything you were, but turning or moving brings your sprite back.

The zombie game was willrandship's.
Ok thanks.
Darn I am disappointed at how many people ditched their entry. I wish at least they entered a demo or something. That kind of stuff always makes me feel relunctant about doing a 2011 Axe contest.

I'll be releasing my discontinued entry soon, after I work out a few bugs.

EDIT: What happened to my avatar?
Ok cool, I'll be sure to try it. Also I don't know about your avatar. If it started slowing down the forums due to server issues, maybe a staff took it down, though, but otherwise maybe the place where it was hosted deleted it. ALso if you uploaded it on the forums between Feb 4th and 11th it was probably deleted in the server data loss.
I'm sure an Axe contest would be much more popular than a TI-Basic one.

Also, I tried FinaleTI's and so many files to archive, I'll do it later.
I don't think it would be. The problem was that people were busy with school. Also in an Axe contest, about 90% of the entries would be deleted by RAM clears anyway.
Wow. I didn't expect my game to be that buggy for everyone...
I'll try to make a hybrid version(at the very least I'll use XCOPY or CopyProg) so that it's more playable.
One other suggestion would probably be to display the char sprites with an ASM/Axe lib, to speed up things, because it was really slow to be honest. Sad

DJ, what about instead of an Axe contest, a "make the best game" contest without restrictions on language or platform. Of course, the platforms should all be calculators, but a community wide programming contest would be nice.

Well, Cemetech already did that one and if they do an all-language contest again, if we did the same thing both contests would get similar entries or entries would be split between each others. That's of course unless the contest was ran by both sites, though. I could maybe have a specific game theme, though, like in 2009. I also thought about a TI-Nspire contest.

That could work too, but I wonder if the participation would be high. I could maybe allow people to participate in multiple categories, though.

Also I bet some people will want a 68K contest, but I am fairly certain no one would participate. X.x

No, that's exactly why this last cage match had few participants.

Cage Matches should be 1vs1 with a restriction, I think.

Also, I agree that an Axe contest would be great, I could end up participating too Cheesy

68K... There are not a lot of 68K programmers here, I don't know.

The reason this contest didn't have that many entries wasn't because there wasn't a language restriction, since they were all Pure TI-BASIC (with a couple exceptions). It was because people didn't have enough time, something happened, or they took on a project that was to much to complete in the time alloted.

I think a no language restricted contest would be really cool, though I think those entering Pure TI-BASIC games (that aren't just poorly thrown together) should get a bit of a handicap or leeway or something since it's at an obvious disadvantage compared to Hybrid, Axe, and Assembly.

Anywho, back on topic. I still need to try these...damn you laziness/procrastination <.<

There could always be multiple categories like in 2009: z80 TI-BASIC, z80 Axe, z80 ASM, z80 hybrid, 68K all, Nspire all and Casio Prizm all. Personally, though, I would like to focus on the most popular languages around here. Plus if we have a BASIC category we definitively have to allow people to compete in multiple ones, otherwise nobody will enter anything else than BASIC/hybrid. Remember the 2009 contest? Only BASIC programs were submitted. Not that it's bad, but it would be more fun to have entries in new languages/platforms to promote them and/or multiple ones. Many people just go with BASIC because it's more RAM-clear-proof and much easier to program than Axe (except the speed, of course).

A 68k contest sounds kinda neat. Gives me an excuse to learn 89 BASIC. Tongue

So, yeah, I have a blog now. Nothing special, just your average ghost town.

Spoiler for Projects:
Spoiler for Pokemon TI:
Map engine is going to be redone from scratch, since I was lacking in organization last time. With a project as big as Pokemon, planning and organization is key, so that will probably be the brunt of the work done on this project for the time being.

Spoiler for Nostalgia:
Being worked on. Nothing really new to put here, but it's being worked on.

Spoiler for Finale's Super Insane Tunnel Pack of Doom:
I will be combining Blur and Collision Course into a single gamepack.

Spoiler for Nostalgia Origins: Sky's Story:
Currently on hold. I am unsure of whether this will remain DCS7 Hybrid BASIC or if it will use Batlib, Grammer or perhaps Axe.
This may see more progress once a demo of Nostalgia is released.

Fullmetal Alchemist:
Graphics: 8/10
The graphics in this game are excellent. The only complaint that I have about this is that sometimes it can be hard to see things, like when you blend into the background or something.
Gameplay: 5/10
It's really nice, from what I was able to try. I like how things are set up. Only complaint is that I did get a ERR:INVALID DIM and a ERR:MEMORY. Unfortunately, due to the memory error, I didn't get to try the battle system so that was what took that down. I also think it should auto save or something after important conversations incase of such errors so you don't have to go all the way through them again.
Speed: 3/10
Unfortunately the speed on this is really slow. It takes about two seconds to load the character and the text routine was agonizingly slow since you couldn't skip conversations (like after I would get an error and have to start over) and I thought the line breaks were weird since you didn't maximize the space you could have to say things (like stoping halfway through the screen). Also, again I couldn't test your battle system so I don't know how slow or fast that was, but I did notice a animation from Father Cornello (I think) and thought that animations that need to redraw the whole thing are too slow to really use.
Installing/Running: 3/10
It was really easy to install with the directions...however I was not able to install it on my actual calculator because I kept getting memory errors and having to reset my RAM each time to fix it. The only reason I was able to try it was because Wabbit extracted the groups directly. So I think if you had just given the files individually instead of in groups I think that would have been better. The other reason this has been docked so much was because was due to the errors previously mentioned that restricted me from proceeding and continueing in the game.

I'm also going to have to deduct an automatic five points from my rating since you used assembly subroutines, and although they weren't against the rules I just think it's a for of "cheating" when it comes to something being Pure TI-BASIC.

Total: 14/40 (Sorry Sad)

Zombie Assault: Defender of the House
Graphics: 6/10
Although all the graphics are on the homescreen I think they are sufficient given that it is Pure TI-BASIC and the house still looks good. But given that they are still ASCII I'm going to have to dock for that.
Gameplay: 7/10
It's pretty simple, though some concepts are a little hard to understand. Like the TNT and how it works. Also, you don't really say how you loose or what does what so I docked for that too but that's not as big of a deal given that there isn't much.
Speed: 9/10
I thought that the speed was really nice. The only thing I docked on was that I thought the gameplay was a little to fast at the start. Like the zombies are moving too fast. Other than that I thought it was good.
Installing/Running: 10/10
It was very easy to install. Just had to load two files, the pic and program, onto the calc and was good to go. Also, didn't experience any errors while playing.

Total: 32/40

So my vote goes torwards ZADotH.

I think I'm gonna go with Zadoth too. Although there was that bug which allowed me to survive as long as I want, making the game easy, it was quite fast otherwise. FinaleTI's entry was fun and had lots of work in  it, but the walking speed was unbearable (4 times slower than The Reign of Legends 3) and I kept getting errors while walking. Sad

It would be nice to see further work on these entries, because they have good potential.

Where can we vote?

I tried Zadoth and it looked quite cool. However, I could easily get infinite points (just dig in the certain place for long time...).

Also, does the national guard ever arrive in ZaDoth?

There is no voting I don't think. You just kinda rate each one or just say which you vote for.

Also, no, I don't believe so. I think that's just part of the "story" that ties it together.
