Title: Yo! What's up!
Post by: AGVolnutt on May 26, 2011, 01:18:35 pm
Hello there!
I'm AGVolnutt, and I'm here to explore this neat little community that values calculator programming and arts. In other words, I'm here to see what's up and be a part of this place, too!

Some of my background is that I'm a "catch-almost-all" guy in the technical field. I have had experience in nSpire-BASIC and dabbled a little bit into Java and Android. I am also a computer/technology enthusiast. I want to push my devices as far as they can go in performance!

Some hobbies of mine are: Lady Gaga, PC gaming, crude improv* and papercraft.

Conclusion, I will spend some time having fun here at Omnimaga and it's community!

~AGVolnutt

*crude improv: create practically anything that could help out in any situation using immediate resources.

Welcome to Omnimaga :D I really hope you like this place, and I'm hopeful you will since you're a programmer, like most of us.

I've got some experience in Android (Java) and computer Java too. I've also developed in Nspire-Basic. So you can see I hope you have stuff in common with other members too :)

Hi there.
Have some peanuts:
!peanuts
Maybe you don't know, but there was recently another program language "found" on the nSpire:Lua
This language has a lot more programming capabilities than the 'crippled' TI-nSpire basic.

I hope you enjoy it here at Omnimaga. I checked your website out. You aren't selling your programs, right? :P

Also don't forget to read the rules. :)

Heya and welcome to the forums. Hopefully you'll enjoy your stay, as we got a bunch of Nspire coders, computer programmers (mostly java) and now a general technology/hardware section. :)

/me promptly noms the peanuts.

Thanks for the warm welcome!

And yes, my nSpire programs are always free. I have yet to release a program for any other platform.

And I'll stick to vanilla nSpire BASIC. I don't want to confuse code here and there. Plus, it will help me help others in Ti-BASIC a bit more.

Well an issue tho is that Nspire basic is extremly limited. You don't even have getkey or Output() so basically interactive games like a tilemap-based RPG or platformer would be impossible :(, unlike Lua, ASM and C. However I guess you could do some other types of game, though.

As for Gaga I don't mind Alejandro, but otherwise I'm not a big fan of that music (I prefer '90s eurodance, uk hardcore, eurobeat and italo-disco)

I'm not really one to design and create games. I work better with programs that have a purpose and can pursue a productive goal. That's why theres a lot of math apps on my page!

Oh come on, you know you wub Gaga. :3

Aah ok I see. Fortunately you can still post your non-game tools in the projects section. They might still get some feedback even though Omni is primarly focused on gaming.

As for Gaga I like her, but I would like her music better if it was like this
or this
