This is kinda like Orbix, right? For some reasons, though, the name reminded me of one of the Puzzpack games. Looks nice, though. :D

You should maybe add screenshots with the files. :P

Its a difficult game to describe, its not sliding, more like pinball.  Its really pushing the limits on what can actually be fast tho :P Its probably the game of mine that i enjoy the least, just because i'm so impatient XD It does have some of the nicest graphics of my games tho ^^

I used to play this all the time last year in English because I could sit back, watch the screen, and look like I was reading a book. :P

Heh did you ever manage to beat the game?  I myself never have :X
Title: Re: Peggle
Post by: ztrumpet on December 13, 2010, 05:31:04 pm
Never.  I only beat the first level and then resorted to the cheatcode. :P
Title: Re: Peggle
Post by: Builderboy on December 13, 2010, 05:32:09 pm
haha well how did you figure out the cheatcode?  Didn't you have to enter it on the highscore screen?  Or was it already on omni at that time XD

Nope, it was in the code. :P

(I printed it off to study it) ^-^

haha nice!  This game really really needs to be remade in Axe, like its almost begging to be remade.  It would be awesome :D I just need to build up the courage to made a pinball engine in Axe first :P

Same here.  It was one of the first I thought of, but then I realized that it would be HARD. :D

if you made this in axe i would love you forever. the idea is great, but TI-Basic is too slow to showcase all of peggle's glory.

For some reasons, 3 of your games got names that are similar or exactly the same as 3 other existing games. :P (Trapped, Orbit and Pegs) Nice games, though.

No, I think Builderboy game is good in BASIC too. I understand that Axe blew BASIC out of the water in some ways but let's not start that whole basic bashing thing again.

EDIT: stupid caps lock...

No, hmmm, what error does it throw?  Is it a TiOS error or an ingame error?

Oh, go to the Matrix editor or table ([2nd] [Graph]). :)

By the way, this doesn't work for OS 2.53 MP. :(

Post by: yunhua98 on December 13, 2010, 05:47:32 pm
oh, btw, why does it do Pxl-On(60,3) and then Text(54,something," ") and then check if that pixel is on or not?

would someone mind making an animated screenie then?  Mah link cable is broken, I'm going to get another soon though, no worries.  ;)

Because of a small quirk of the Ti84 series, where if you visit the Mode Menu, it makes it so that whenever you display text, it erases *below* the text as well as above.  This breaks my game so i don't allow you to play it if it is detected

hmm...  RAM clear does nothing, but then again, I'm on 2.53  :(

Hmmmmm maybe 2.53 locks this flag on? D: I'll have to do more research...

Oh wait I see why: Indeed on OS 2.53 MP for most text characters this flag is locked ON, it seems, so you will always have a row of pixels erased below text. This sucks :/

Excuse me, TI, please place OS 2.53 MP in the middle of these two men.  Thank you:

Good idea. Everyone hates the MP OS. It sucks.

dj: nobody's bashing basic. this game in particular is just not one that is suited for replication in it.

oh, and builder: do you mind if i take a stab at an axe remake? i need something to motivate me back into coding, and, aside from angles of reflection on round pegs(which could be faked fairly easily with eight possible rebound angles), this sounds like just the not-too-hard project.

True but it still doesn't mean it shouldn't be done or that it's a bad idea. I made a Metroid game with BASIC+libs before and some people enjoyed it.

shmibs go ahead :D I have too many projects anyway :P And i don't think anybody is saying that peggle *shouldnt* be made in Basic, just that this would be even more epic in asm, since its a bit more suited, i agree.  After all, i did make this game and i know a lot of people enjoyed it :) Its one of the highest rated games over at TiBD ^^ (bet you didn't know they have an archive :P)

Sorry DJ, not meaning to start basic bashing. i sent you a lengthy pm describing why i'm not bashing basic in that post. i just mean that peggle is more suited to be made in axe or assembly, due to how much math it has to calculate per-frame.

Oh I know they had an archives, but I stopped checking in 2009 because 90% of the stuff uploaded became crap. At that point they pretty much started allowing anything in from guessing games to quadratic solvers. As a result I might have missed a bunch of stuff.

Also it seemed to me the comments were saying Peggle wasn't suitable for BASIC, but whatever. I'm just trying to make sure there won't be an anti-BASIC mentality spiral here, which is possible with so many BASIC programmers who switched to Axe.

EDIT: Ok I saw your post Nemo. Apology accepted
