Using TI-Nspire CX to charge Nintendo DS?
« on: July 20, 2014, 07:17:41 pm »
So Streetwalrus tried, out of curiosity, to charge a Nintendo DS Lite using a TI-Nspire CX calculator with the unit to unit cable and it actually worked. http://ourl.ca/15342/389977

Although I doubt it is very practical (I bet the Nspire battery will be depleted before the DS even finished charging, but we never know), it was kinda funny to see this actually worked (and surprising too by the fact the DS plug accepted the USB cable) I wonder what other devices could the Nspire CX charge? Also I was told by him that this trick would not work with a CSE due to power being too low, but I don't know if he tried. It might be interesting to know, though, assuming it's safe with other devices, in case there is that one rare situation where your device is out of battery yet all you have with you is a calc and cable (assuming the cable fits of course: No, your TI-Nspire CX won't charge your Chevrolet Volt). :P

It's a DS lite, not a DSi. :P

That's seven. Anything I can't count on one hand is a lot.

But there were only two NES, two SNES, two Game Boys, one GBC, three GBA and four PSP. :P Atari 2600, on the other hand...

How many TI calcs were there ? Back on topic, this is pretty easy to do. Just plug the A end of you unit to unit cable (the one that comes with the Nspire) into your calc and the B end in the DS (you may have to force a tiny little bit but it's perfectly fine).

You can count to seven on one hand since you can count up to 31 with one hand and 1023 with two hands.

The "3DS series" is not part of the DS series in my opinion. Well, they still have a Dual Screen so it's a continuation, but since you rightfully did not count the GBA and the GBC among the GB, the 3DS should not be counted among the DS.
So it only makes 4 DS (as much as the PSP) and 3 3DS.

Sorry if I answer with something that seems unrelated, English is not my primary language and I might not have understood well. Sorry if I make English mistakes too.

The DSi itself is somewhat in between the DS lite and the 3DS. It's a different console, with upgraded specs and all (yes it's more powerful). It does have backwards compatibility with the DS though.

However because its screen is larger than that of the DS, it's got a lower DPI. Not that I have something to complain about with my 84+ ::)

The DPI doesn't really matter. Even the DS has low DPI.
