Title: Any Homestucks?
Post by: Fireicee1 on February 18, 2013, 11:28:38 pm
Ok, so this doesn't really count as an anime/manga (it's a web comic), but I figured this was the best place for it.

Does anyone here read Homestuck?

Homestuck is, as previously mentioned, a web comic by Andrew Hussie.
I figured many people here would enjoy it because it parodies text-adventure, video games, and just internet culture in general.

It's about a boy named John Egbert and his internet friends (Rose Lalonde, Dave Strider, and Jade Harley) who begin playing a new internet game called Sburb.
The game is capable of altering reality, as one "server player" can see the client player's room on their screen, and move objects around by clicking on them.
Eventually they activate a mechanism that causes Earth to be destroyed via meteors, while the kids are transported directly into the game's universe, called the Incipisphere.
Crazy things happen that can not be explained fully.
It's full of complex plot devices, time travel, aliens, alternate universes, action, suspense, romance, and, above all, humor.
THOUGH BE WARNED, THE FIRST SEGMENT IS PRETTY DULL. Just get through it, but don't skip it.
If you haven't heard of it, you should read it.

Kinda surprised no one made any topic of this yet.

Homestuck is my favorite comic. Ever. <3 (Notice my sig who was there since a damn while.)

It's really, REALLY crazy.

It is awesome.  Is your name a reference to the cherub's jujus?  Or is it just a coincidence (I see you registered in 2010 and I'm not sure the jujus were really known back then)

I had this name online since 2003 or 2004 or so and I read Homestuck way before there was jujus (or that thing in Ubuntu that is called Juju) (I think they came out in 2012 or so), so yeah it's a coincidence. I was like, oh wow there's something named after me I love you Hussie :3

I am quite a fan too. I read quite a long part(not sure which chapter anymore), but for some reason, I got a bit lazy to continue reading it and stopped(and haven gotten to that point back again).
However, a few month later, I got crazy and bought the Homestuck Act2 book. (I didn't buy Act1, since it was a bit less adventurous, and contained quite a lot of less pages that act 2). So, I'm pretty happy with the book. The only thing is if I would start reading again I should start again in act3, since I kinda forgot like everything.
Another downside to Homestuck is the inappropriate material that sometimes can show up, and A LOT of curses. (I censored quite some words in my book with a pen, since it got really annoying.)
