I figured I'd try my hand at making some kind of 2D game for the computer, but my only problem is I have absolutely no skill in graphics whatsoever! :-X My request is that somebody make me a medieval soldier that is either 16x16, 24x24, or 32x32. It can be in full color, and I would actually prefer it be that way. I would also prefer the sprite to be 24x24, but the size can be any of the three aforementioned. Also, please only make the soldier. No weapons, shields, what have you. You can, if you want, have him have a cape or cloak. I would also need a front, left, right, and back view of the solder.

Somehow I knew you'd want this ;) But no, no deadline. This is just something I wanted to try, so you could say it's just a side project. The sooner the better, though :)

So here is a VERY VERY VERY ROUGH DRAFT! Like most of it I expect to change <_< but I would still like your feedback on how it looks and what you are more so looking for?! not sure if it really looks that medieval, but armor is hard to do right when it is that small :P
P.S. their are two, let me know which one you want me to adjust, and if they are both WAY off, let me know and I'll start them all over

Hmm... I like the helmet of the first one more. I was actually thinking about it recently, and do you think you could make it so that he is holding a shield in front of him in his right hand? (So when you look at the front view it's on the left side.) One like the Romans used (example (https://d1ij7zv8zivhs3.cloudfront.net/assets/2698846/lightbox/Roman%20Shield%20(Scutum)_002--cropped.jpg?1292792752); but it doesn't have to be decorated like that) except where the two bottom edges come to a point in the middle. That should help with the armor problem lol. Also, remember you can go up to 32x32 if necessary ;)

lol thanks! that will help a lot! I'll try and get it done before the end of the day tomorrow (oddly enough I'm going to my ex's house tomorrow to watch the movie Gladiator! maybe I'll get inspiration O.O )

In many occasions, this is what kept me from making any computer game a few years ago. For characters I can use Charas.EX but for other kind of graphics I'm usually stuck D:.
What kind of game are you making by the way? Is it role-playing?

Yeah, graphics are almost always the problem for me. I guess it's mostly because I want to try to do everything by myself, but I'm too stubborn to realize that I can't. I could probably do textures (dirt, water, etc.) But when it comes to sprites, I'm near helpless.
But yes, I planned to try to make this an RPG with all the bells and whistles. I always find that they're more fun and have more of a replay value than other kinds of games.

My problem is almost always that I accept too many sprite requests and I rush through them :P most of the time the final product looks good though (or so I'm told *saint glances through his sprite thread and points out many things he should have changed)

sorry to double post, but here is an update on the shield and the soldier, now what direction do you want me to take this? (lol the shield is a little elaborate)

Whoops, sorry, I didn't get the email for this. The soldier's looking really good though! Just a couple more things and I think it'd be golden! :D Umm... You might be a little mad at me, but could the shield be more simple? Lol. And I didn't quite know how to explain it at first, but this is the kind of design I was thinking of: (http://img854.imageshack.us/img854/2272/shieldtx.png) (but smaller). If you could do that shape and make it simpler, that'd be awesome!
Also, um, could you possibly add a blue cape? ;D
