The new rewrite of XDE uses its own font (in sprites) since that makes it so much easier to manipulate text, and that means 223 (0x01 to 0xDF) new sprites. I already have a set of capitals I'm testing with, but they suck:

So if anyone has the time, this is a request for an entire font set of 223 of the chars on a TI-83 Plus. They should be 4x6 monochrome (no fancy grayscale fonts) and look good in the context of the mockup above. And don't overdo it, please; Courier New is an awesome monospaced font but the serifs are gonna be disastrous :P
And to avoid wasting your time, you can just post your version of a couple chars so we can offer suggestions before you do the rest.
Thanks in advance for any help! I'll make sure to credit you for it -- it's a big part of the project.

Hmm, I can try. I think you should take a cobbled-together version of whatever comes in, since I can't make them all :P So, numbers, Caps and Lowercase? Any symbols? you'll need ^r, right?
Edit: Argh, this sucks :P Nothing fits except r, i and L.

All of 0x01 to 0xDF, actually (listed here (http://tibasicdev.wikidot.com/83lgfont)). Blame the T command :P

this IS very difficult. i made a quick attempt at the top line, but they mostly look gross.

For BatLib I have a bunch of them finished because BatLib/ReCode uses a 4x6 font, too. I stopped at 7Fh, though. I will try to get a screeny of them... Also, there are a bunch of symbols I just skipped over, too.

When you say 4x6, do you mean full 4x6 characters or 3x5 characters with a 1 pixel border on two sides? Because the screenshot you posted had 4x6 characters, but Xeda's character set is 3x5.

Yeah, it gets hard. Especially when you try to compress letters like 'm' into 4 columns :-\

Whoops, should have made that clear: It's 4x6 without the white border. Sorry Xeda.

The capitals do look almost entirely identical to mine O.O
Lowercase letters are much better than the ones I came up with though. Can we see your full font? A bit more tweaking (as you said, some of them are 5x6) and it'll be perfect :D

I did what I could with FinaleTI's font. Obviously the difficult ones are the ones like M and W that need the spacing to tell what they are :\ I also included some other characters, too. Do you want me to see if I can make an entire character set? Or at least as much as possible?
(Btw, I did this using Photoshop which is a terrible pixel editor, so I didn't worry about spacing between the other punctuation chars that I threw in there. Sorry if that causes issues for you.)
EDIT: Also, a while ago I made a fairly complete 3x4 font. I don't know if that would be at all useful to you. If so, I can dig it up and post it here. I also made a set of 3x3 numbers and capital letters, but that was just to challenge myself :P
EDIT #2: Here's a full 4x6 character set with no exclusions. Hope this helps. :D

I unfortunately left my calculator home today when we went out, so I can't work on the font right now.
I did do more than the letters and numbers, I actually have a good few symbols done, but I don't have all the characters in the set done yet.

Feel free to use symbols from my character set there. I'm sure many of them could be improved anyway though...

Thanks, I probably will, as some of those chars look pretty good.
Edit: Finished my additions. You don't have to use all of them, and most of the sheet is ZippyDee's stuff, as I thought it was really good.
