Title: Eiyeron's Paint Room
Post by: Eiyeron on December 02, 2013, 03:30:59 pm
Hello everyone!

I just want to centralize all my pixel art thingies I let around the site here, and avoid bloating the random sprite topic or the mockup topics with loads'o'sprites.

So, there are the sprites I did these times:

^What Sorunome said. Also, I know I didn't have a chance to comment yet, but those Zelda dungeon mockups look really cool. ;D

(Lil' update to the tileset coloration. Added a full load of colored candies! :p)

Thanks guys! I have some downvotes about the set itself: for instance the ennemies doesn't have any animations. This set seems to be designed more for a Fire Emblem like.

Oh, do you want I to write some lines about some of my actual drawing methods/tools/guidelines? I don't have so much to share ( I'm quite new to pixel), but I feel I could help some guys.

(After all there are many pixel art tuts around the web)

Zelda for the Prime would be good, but I don't think I'll work on such large project for the time being. Besides, it has been 9 years since I last finished a calculator RPG project. :P

Yoink, I added my low-poly wallpapers. Should I add some ultra-colorful one I did with Toshop? (Disclaimer : I'll not responsible for too much colors)

EDIT : Added another low-poly Wallpaper. Do you like volcanoes?

I found a neat  program that gives a neat palettized + dithering render. Here is the Omnimaga logo (I removed the shadow outline) with the same palete as my new avatar

It's very user-friendly. the only bad thing is the exporter, which wrongly exports UV textures (the texture to faxe mapping). It puts the face vertices in the middle of the face's texture, not in the corners. In some faces it's badly mapped and the result differs from the desired result.

As the GeekBros Lair project is getting progress, I decided to make a new banner. It's still WIP and uses DB32 palette for no reason. (Will maybe change the palette to yield better results). We don' thave neither the main colors defined.

EDIT : Alternative background color.

Userbar in progress. It'll be in pieces to give an icon a link.

EDIT : reduced height by one, changed background for a line one for better readability.
EDIT 2 : Done for today. Changed name case; text, icon and logo lightnings and removed the excess of dithering. It should begin to look good.
EDIT 3 : yay, twitter icon!
EDIT 4 : Aperture Science!
EDIT 5 : Does someone want this?

I have another one which adds rgb separation
(https://ucollective.org/items/images/Eiyeron%20-%20Science.gif)
The main problem is the algortihm is quite the heavy one, it recolors an image (done in the setup part) and then the main loop redraws the image and applies many glitching effects.

I should investigate a already converted to palette version and optimisze this, this could be very fun!

Thanks for posting the link. :D Actually, for people who stick to limited video softwares like WMM or VirtualDub, this could be handy, since the user can just convert a GIF to AVI. How do you use pde files, though?

I should try to create a similar effect on the HP Prime. :)

This a Processing (http://processing.org) program. It render the frames as a series of png. I assembled the files in a GIF with Gimp. It uses a stored in a picture to choose the right colors for the to-be sampled image. (Here I gave the NES palette.)
