the steady diet of IE is probably the reason the firefox gurl is so slim... poor poor kitty... should put on a few pounds *meow*

If I was a Opera user I would say "And that is why it is bloat ware, as it is a RAM hog and takes up more space!" haha, good times..

nah the one in the installer is not too bad, plus its not the logo/design that make it good, providing the interface is easy to use and not too different from everything else

if you close a tab, it doesnt free up the memory the tab took, so if you open, close, open, close tabs at one point it will take insane amount of ram if you visit many different sites

haha owned. TO be back on the discussion Firefox seems to take quite a while to startup compared to Opera and IE since it went to 2.0 :(sad.gif and i have 1 GB of RAM

Opera: ~5-6 seconds
IE: ~3-4 seconds
Firefox: ~11-12 seconds

Hmm... those startup times are weird. I've never tried IE7 (I don't even have it - haven't updated comp in a long time).
There are some various icons I use on my computer.

For me, FF takes .5 sec and if I remove all my extensions/themes it would be even faster... But I guess it depends on your computer.

Even though FF is a RAM whore compared to Opera (about 100mb more), FF  just functions much better for me than Opera does.

I haven't tried IE7 yet.  How is it security-wise?

Opera may be fast, but has lots of rendering quirks and a lot of web pages won't work with it, especially those that use stuff like AJAX (like the SAX box at Cemetech).

Firefox is nice, has many features, and is probably the best browser IMO, but it too much of a RAM whore.

Internet Explorer is not too bad, and a lot more web pages will work in IE than the other browsers, but IE has some security issues and is not as flexible as the other browsers.

If you have FF, there are a lot of nice extensions that allow you to switch browsers within FF. i.e. you can render a page in IE and back to FF within a single tab (extension name: IE Tab).

You do realize that most of us are on a real OS, Windows compared to the training OS, Mac OSx

It means that I am racist against macs. HAHA!
One time I went to the mac store to tease the employes and he said that he loved to play Halo 2 on his dual boot Windows XP/Mac. If you pay attentition, you know that Halo 2 is VISTA only and this was about a year ago.

Where's the love??  :Ptongue.gif  I mean everyone know that the "real" order for browsers is Firefox>Opera>IE. And for OS its Mac>Linux>Windows  :Ptongue.gif

j/k

(I'm ashamed that I am a Windows user  :(sad.gif , but I'll be switching soon...)
