Title: Just something I did....
Post by: MechaTech84 on June 19, 2007, 09:12:00 am
I did this in about an hour maybe.... probably less. I think it is pretty good.

This is my first attempt at drawing anything other than a cube on the computer... All opinions are greatly appreciated.

Well, it's, ... original.

It's still better than a cube, but could need more work.

1-it looks like a round plastic sword, add edges to it to make it looks dangerous and evil

2-Fluo might look good sometimes, but not when the entirety of the sword is

Those are my 2 words, feel free to not listen to them, I'm  bad drawer myself.

the sword isn't consistent for one.  Some parts have thick lines, others have just 1 pixel, and the designs dont apear to contour to a 3D shape.  I am not sure if its supposed to be a beam sowrd, but if so, the blade should be symetrical.  If its supposed to be a regualr sword, it should have an edge.

Maybe you should put some gaussin(however you spell it) blur on a shadow layer under the sword part to give it a glowing shiny look.

Ya, it is supposed to be a beam sword, like a light saber or something. I am not a good drawer in real life so this is about the only thing I would stand a chance at drawing there, so I drew it on the computer.... It is *amazingly* much better than any other sword I have drawn.... Oh well.

Necro: where isn't the blade symtrical? If you mean the darker green and white parts I don't know how to fix that, other wise.... I have no idea where it's not symmetrical.

maybe he means don't do the shadow and highlight spot thing.  it makes it look more like a solid (plastic tube).  A beam saber tends to have a diffuse glow with a uniform gradient starting in the middle.  fuzzier too.

Oh! Ok, I can try that... It will take a while for me to get it right though....
