Comment on them please, I want to know how to make them better if I can. The first one (the shakugan no shana one) is my personal favorite
-
Wow! I really like the first one!
good job! I will never be able to draw like that in my life.
The 6th one (zelda Sig flattened final.jpg) i think has a bit big eyes for her face, but still looks good.
-
Thank you, I made these with paint.net. yeah, I agree for the eyes on the last one. I'll be able to upload new pictures to this site at any time, but I'll usually announce when I am updating it.
-
Darn, that's amazing! Did you draw everything yourself from scratch, because that's totally epic! You have a lot of skills!
I hope you make more :)
(I am also glad someone revived the pixel art/drawing subforum, it was getting kinda dead in there D:)
-
I didn't draw most of the sigs, like the first one was a render from: http://gallery.minitokyo.net/view/403258 (http://gallery.minitokyo.net/view/403258) then I got a couple of background pics from: http://planetrenders.net/renders/thumbnails.php?album=search&cat=0&page=1 (http://planetrenders.net/renders/thumbnails.php?album=search&cat=0&page=1) and used this tutorial: http://paintdotnet.forumer.com/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=32277 (http://paintdotnet.forumer.com/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=32277) . Also thank you, and I plan to make many more :)
Edit: that was only the shakugan no shana one, I used a different tutorial for the rest, but don't remember the link
-
Cool, cuz the edits and stuff looks really well done. I haven't done a lot of image editing, I usually do fractals and abstract stuff using old pics from mine (including other fractals). Example is the 3 Omnimaga backgrounds on each skins. I also did stuff like the new banner but that's about it. I'm glad to see more artists aboard :)
-
made another one, it should appear as the first one, but if not it's called "ShankuganNoShanaSig2JPEG". this one didn't turn out exactly as I would have liked, but I felt it was still good enough to put up, I might redo later. give feedback

player1537's computer is offline
D: I can't view the img
Could you host them on Imageshack, Mediafire or something? You could even upload them in posts
-
sorry, the thing I'm using takes files directly from my desktop. I was afraid that would happen when my computer isn't on, I'll look for a different hosting software.
March 31, 2010: finished another sig, this one is of Kazumi-san, from the same series as the shakugan no shana sigs
-
The only thing I have to say is that sigs usually aren't so big. (at least, not so tall)
They're really good pictures, but they aren't really practical sigs.
If you're going for making sigs, then it's best to pick a reasonable size (usually wider than tall) and stick with it throughout.
If you're going for something else or sigs of that style are okay on another forum you go to, then I'm sorry but just thought I'd point it out.
Also, it's pretty cool to see that Paint.NET isn't useless. I used it awhile back and couldn't understand it. (Photoshop just makes more sense to me.)
-
yeah, I guess they aren't really sigs, most of them are good profile pictures though, with some scaling that is. ussually I make them really big to begin with (or whatever size they come as) then scale them down if I want them, or if I only want a portion of them. I'm looking for some that will work wider than they are tall.
-
actually sigs are generally 500x150 in size. That's the largest most forums with sig rules allow. Some other forums, however, limits sigs to one image of 40 or 80 pixels high, though.
-
my current avatar is just a smaller version of the mario pic on that site
-
These are kind of large for signature images. Generally, the guidelines I've seen on various forums are:
- 468x60 (full-banner)
- 234x60 (half-banner)
- 200x40 (Japanese banner)
- 120x90 (large button)
- 120x60 (medium button)
- 88x31 (small button)
Incidentally, these are also standard of banner ads founds in webpages. They're fairly good guidelines, since they're not too instrusive or large, and they allow for good filesizes with standard compression.
-
I tend to let the max be 500x200 myself. It's that way on a lot of the forums I went to in my youth so I stick with it.
All of my signatures I make now are 300x100 now. It's just the size I chose and stick to.

That's cool!
{AP}, what size are the banners in your sig? That would be an interesting fact too. :D
-
Ah, the userbars?

I'll add the images to the last post too.
-
Thanks, so they are 350 x 20. Thanks! ;D
-
They are very nice. The only think I would say is just work on the masking a bit, just seems a little rough. But overall really cool :)
-
I've made a couple more pics, they are at the same sight as the first one. Most look a lot better if you click "View as original size" or something close to that
-
All I can say now is that some of these pictures need a bit of work on the renders.
Some of them you can see the background still around the edges. The only solution is either REALLY working hard on erasing OR use some pre-cut renders.
Just google 'renders' or register at Planet Renders (http://www.planetrenders.net/) and get some there. They have the images (usually) perfectly cut out so you only have to worry about the special effects.
-
Oh, and a thought about the hosting thing, you could always set of a DeviantArt. Always a good place to post art :)
-
DeviantArt is a good idea.
You can get some more comments/criticism and keep the work organized all in one place.
If you want to see an example, here's mine: http://tehnyaar.deviantart.com/
That's just the profile page; check my gallery too. (the link is near the top of the page or here (http://tehnyaar.deviantart.com/gallery/))
Note, I just made this account today so I'm still kinda adding to it.
-
Ya, it's really user friendly too. Very easy to use. I have all my art stuff on there too.
-
does deviantart accept all kind of images? I think I have an account there, but I am not sure anymore. I could maybe post some banners I did over the year and even handdrawn pics if it's allowed
-
Ya, I'm pretty sure they do.
I'll check really quick.
Well I just checked and couldn't find a page listing their supported image file types. I'm pretty sure they accept just about everything though.
-
not sure if a 4 month necropost is allowed...but anyways, made another pic :D

tell me what you think
-
Looks good, I'd see if you can get rid of the white outline around the character though. I'd like to view the others on the first page, but it wont let me. Perhaps host them externally on photobucket or image shack or something?
-
ok, I'll try to find a place to host them, maybe that devianart site, my edit will have the name of the site on it
Edit: http://player1537.deviantart.com/gallery/
-
wow nice so far, there seems to be something surrounding the legs outline in the new version, though. Is it intended to be a special effect?
-
suurree special effect *wink*
No :( its where I was trying to fix the white outlines, but didn't do very well x.x
-
aw sorry to hear :(
-
Nice stuff. ^^ Looks like you fixed the problem with the outline too.
-
Can't access them :( Apparently all forms of photo sharing are blocked here.
-
Nice job tanner! Excellent work! That looks wonderful ;D
-
I think Player should upload them as attachments in his posts, unless he can't use attachment system on SMF boards. It would make it easier I think.
