Comment on them please, I want to know how to make them better if I can. The first one (the shakugan no shana one) is my personal favorite

The 6th one (zelda Sig flattened final.jpg) i think has a bit big eyes for her face, but still looks good.

I haven't done a lot of image editing, I usually do fractals and abstract stuff using old pics from mine (including other fractals). Example is the 3 Omnimaga backgrounds on each skins. I also did stuff like the new banner but that's about it. I'm glad to see more artists aboard :)

March 31, 2010: finished another sig, this one is of Kazumi-san, from the same series as the shakugan no shana sigs

They're really good pictures, but they aren't really practical sigs.

If you're going for making sigs, then it's best to pick a reasonable size (usually wider than tall) and stick with it throughout.
If you're going for something else or sigs of that style are okay on another forum you go to, then I'm sorry but just thought I'd point it out.

Also, it's pretty cool to see that Paint.NET isn't useless. I used it awhile back and couldn't understand it. (Photoshop just makes more sense to me.)

Post by: _player1537 on March 31, 2010, 01:30:40 pm: yeah, I guess they aren't really sigs, most of them are good profile pictures though, with some scaling that is. ussually I make them really big to begin with (or whatever size they come as) then scale them down if I want them, or if I only want a portion of them. I'm looking for some that will work wider than they are tall.

Post by: DJ Omnimaga on March 31, 2010, 02:18:37 pm: actually sigs are generally 500x150 in size. That's the largest most forums with sig rules allow. Some other forums, however, limits sigs to one image of 40 or 80 pixels high, though.

- 468x60 (full-banner)
- 234x60 (half-banner)
- 200x40 (Japanese banner)
- 120x90 (large button)
- 120x60 (medium button)
- 88x31 (small button)

Incidentally, these are also standard of banner ads founds in webpages. They're fairly good guidelines, since they're not too instrusive or large, and they allow for good filesizes with standard compression.

All of my signatures I make now are 300x100 now. It's just the size I chose and stick to.

Some of them you can see the background still around the edges. The only solution is either REALLY working hard on erasing OR use some pre-cut renders.

Just google 'renders' or register at Planet Renders (http://www.planetrenders.net/) and get some there. They have the images (usually) perfectly cut out so you only have to worry about the special effects.
