Looks awesome, but would fullscreen still be better?

The only reason is because i added the ability to draw different sized tilemaps in old xLIB but i dont recall anyone ever using it tbh (though im sure some people did). The issue is that the extra code actually slowed down the mapper, yet it was hardly used.

It would be sweet if you could find the colour Reuben, i think i remember seeing coloured mockups of it.

Yeah I went with a lower resolution because I felt it was kinda weird on such small LCD to have that many tiles at once on the screen. It might actually not look too bad, though, considering RPG Maker 2003 shows 20x15.

Sadly the colored Reubens were on Earthforge, so i lost them. I had another one somewhere, though (most likely in Juju's Reuben PC remake topic)

And yeah larger tilemnaps were rarely used because scrolling was too slow, no matter how good the lib was.

Cool, well at 160x120 and 8x8 tiles its 20x15 on the 84C :).

The only issue with this is how hard it will be to do direct ports of old games. Reuben maps are 12x8, which is way too small for the CSE screen, but 2x (24x16) is too large. Lots of map engine re-coding would be on the way. ROL3 wouldn't be an issue of course, since maps are 10x8, so 20x16, with half of the 1st and last rows clipped by half, it would be feasible.

I like the top one for alttp most, why do the other colors look so different then, did you try to make it look as if it was on-calc?

Thanks, and the top one is actually Links Awakening. It was made to show what could an ASM Zelda could have looked like if ASM was even possible on the 1996 color screen Casio calcs.

The other pic that is the same size and have similar colors is if Zelda: Sacred Pearls was ported in pure BASIC on that calc. Pics would be used, along with a similar engine. :P

The large pic is what could Sacred Pearls could look like on the PRIZM if it used pics to draw most of the dungeons. I tried to make all 3 screenshots so that they look as close to what the calc and the languages can do as possible. For example, the CFX series can display 3 colors at once (which can manually be changed via the calc options, but not while in-game), plus the screen color which can't be changed. The PRIZM can use 8 different colors at once in BASIC. The reason why the floor is white on the PRIZM one is because of how horribly slow BASIC is on that model, which would require the usage of ASCII art for enemies and Link, causing a white square to appear around them.

Those mockups look awesome btw. Are there any colour Zelda's on PRIZM?
