hello,
since 2 days, i have been playing around with some coding for a pokemon game (not the pokemon series). its most about fighting and training (also link cable fighting and trading and some elements from the pokemon games). so, i need some 16x16 pokemon sprites for battling.
I would like:
both own and enemy view
-pikachu
-charmander
-bulbasaur
-squirtle
with those 4 i would be happy
oh, and what is best: a 8x8 ash sprite or a 16x16 sprite?
if 16x16, please give me the sprite
Edit: nvm, 8x8 sprite
oh, and plz post hex as my link cable hides from me :P
you will be credited if you post them

monochrome or grey? if grey what level?
-
Yes, I would appreciate these as well. I'd like mine in monochrome.
-
If anyone wants to try decreasing the size of these JoeYoung made 32*32 sprites of all of them here (http://www.unitedti.org/forum/index.php?showtopic=8904&hl=pokemon%20sprites&st=0).
-
Make sure you get his permission first, although I think the sprites I want should be 32x32 as well.
-
Ya, I forgot about permissions...do that first :P
-
For a second I was scared you were taking on an entire Pokémon clone and was getting ready to reply to not start too big if it's your first RPG, but I was glad to see it was something smaller. :P

Monochrome would be okay.

*bump*

um... was this meant to be locked?
-
I don't know, but I have a request here, too, so it's unlocked now :P
-
dimensions... too... small... :P
I did manage to make a decent 24x24 though, have expandable dimensions?
-
oops, sorry, i thought: lets see if i can lock it, but forgot to unlock :S :-[ :-[ :-[ :-[
okay, 24x24 is good too.
nice sprite!!
Edit:
uploaded my 16x16's, those dont look very good, though.

Actually non-staff can lock topics, but they cannot unlock them.

yunhua, whats the hex of your charmander sprite?
and how do my sprites look?
-
I think yours look good, although the second one at the top seems a little small. Maybe make it slightly larger (vertically if it isn't possible horizontally too)? As for hex, you can actually use SourceCoder to convert the image into hex.
-
oh yes i'll see to make it some larger vertically

back sprites:
Pikachu look's good charmander looks retarded. :P and the others are still not edited to the best of my abilities yet. :P
I'll have to work on them some other time. (after noon maybe?) ;)
-
Don't take this bad, but is your charmander a penguin?
-
hey! that does look like a penguin! :P with a flaming tail. XD
I'll work on it more. ;)
-
It doesn't look like a penguin to me O.O
-
if you want, you can make them some bigger, but they're nice, i think
-
The pikachu is perfect, I should have made some too :P
-
always good, i might add a request for some more like voltorb and magnemite, if its not too much work
-
Voltorb == easy
magnemite, alright.
what are your maximum available dimensions for charmander?
-
Maximum dimensions = 32x32
-
Wow those look awesome O.O I am always amazed at the spriting abilities of the people on this forum :D
-
Indeed, same here. I just wish we had some more spriters, since spriting is something needed for game creation. D:

Yeah... Sprites were definitely my largest problem with making PC games, because of the sizes and colors. That, and sound/music...
-
Yeah music is hectic as well. I mean sometimes you may want to make a game, but then realize: "Crap I also need to make the music and the graphics..." and lose interest. X.x
