Lately I have been working on a full scale medieval RPG for Nspire. So far the game engine is nearly complete. The player can walk around, read signs, and speak with villagers. I have yet to complete the battle engine, shops, and menus.
Here is a screenie of the gameplay:

The biggest roadblock I can see right now is all of the sprites that have to be made.
All the sprites I have so far are either made in charas, or ripped from Legend of Zelda.
Spritesheet:

Here is a list of the sprites that need to be made:
I know that this is a very ambitious list, and so I am asking for help.
If you want to help me with the art, please send me a PM, with what you want to contribute, and I will let you know the size and style needed.
Contributers will:- Have their name in the game credits
- Be able to design their own character in the game
- Receive final the game 1 week before release on omnimaga
And most of all, be able to contribute to the final result, and get it out as soon as possible.
-
Wow, that looks awesome ! :D
-
Definitely :o most beautiful LUA game after Jen's Minecraft 2D so far IMO.
-
Awesome looking. :D I may be able to sprite a bit for you; I'll send a PM.
-
This definitively looks awesome. Sadly I don't have any sprite handy since they're all 8x8 in my case. Hopefully someone can help. Else, I guess you could just use sprites from the pre-made RPG Maker sprite sets, although you would need to give credits to Enterbrain.
I might have some water stuff, but I'M unsure.
-
Yup, looking awesome so far :D
-
Uh, that looks very nice! :D I was thinking about making a RGP too, but more like a roguelike game... So if you need any support in programming feel free to ask, I'd love to see a RPG on the nspire!
Btw: You get better Screenshot quality if you save them in .png format ;)

congratulations LDStudios to ditch me with rpg and make ur own :(
but jokes aside the sprites are real good. Now only if my nspire hadn’t messed itself up…

I think it was partly because you are hardly active anymore :P (but again LDStudios hasn't been posting much either lately)

*Bump*

This is still being worked on! :)
Unfortunately, I still need all of the listed sprites
Thanks to everyone who has offered to help!

Were you able to use my water texture, or do you need me to make a new one?
-
Oooh that looks better now. Now if it could use some custom sprites (even if not necessarily as great as Zelda's) it would be nice since it's more original. :)
-
Ah, roundRects for the bars :P

Maybe if I have time later, for now I'm just concerned about getting a decent sprite sheet finished.
Anyways, battle sprites are coming along nicely.

Woah, this looks very nice. :)

Quick and dirty gif animation requested and delivered
EDIT : fixed a transparency error
-
Damn, that looks epic. O.O
-
Yeah, it looks quite fine, you should post the set and a better animation on forums like wayofthepixel (http://wayofthepixel.net).

No, I probably shouldn't :P
It's actually based heavily off of Elliwood's battle animation from Fire Emblem, so the design isn't entirely my own. I reworked a lot of the way he looked, but the base of the animation isn't mine.
Anyways, thanks for the .gif, I can't wait to see how this looks in the game!
EDIT: Here's a sprite set for magic use. It will make more sense when combined with magic animations :P

And here's the gif.

I like how this character turned out. Also for some reasons it reminds me Albator (Captain Harlock). :P

*Bump*
I'm still looking desperately for tree and house sprites. I would copy some from the internet but I haven't found an images that were a good pixel scale, and also large enough for me to copy. Remember, 16x16 tiles, .png. Thanks.
-
What size should they be? I made a little design for houses a while back, lemme see if I can dig it out.
-
Tiles are 16x16, my thought for houses was to have different building tiles (wood, stone, arch, top of door, bottom of door, roof tiles etc)
-
Aah ok :) I'll see if I have anything lying around.
-
Here's a more descriptive list of what I need for buildings.
(In both wood and stone): Plain block, Arch (left), Arch (right), Slant (Left), Slant (Right), Slant (center), top of door, bottom of door, window, roof tiles (for wooden buildings only), crenelations (for stone buildings only). I'd also like a gate that could fit with an archway.
-
I'll see what I can do.
