Title: Sprite request post format suggestion
Post by: boot2490 on October 04, 2011, 11:47:29 am
Me and some other omniers fill out sprite requests from time to time.
However, this section of the forum is disorganized, and that is not easy.
So, if you have a sprite request, fill it like this so people know that it needs to be filled still:

SPRITE REQUEST: (two word descrition of sprite) (dimensions of sprite)
And if the request is filled, or you no longer need the sprite, edit the first post and rename the topic so it says
*FILLED* SPRITE REQUEST: (two word descrition of sprite) (dimensions of sprite)
or
*NVRMND*SPRITE REQUEST: (two word descrition of sprite) (dimensions of sprite)
When you are browsing. This makes it so that people know what you want and if you still need it.
It makes it easier for you and us request fillers.
Thank you!

Would you mind explaining exactly how the board is disorganized? It looks perfectly fine to me.

What I meant is it is nigh impossible to tell if a request still needs to be filled out or not. If you go by low reply count, some with more replies will go unnoticed. If you go by attachment number, that is inaccurate because sometimes people use things like imgur or RFG, so they aren't attachments. And sometimes, sprites have been given that do not meet the request and it still needs to be filled. It is not very crucial, but it could help both sides of a sprite request if there is better communication.

IMHO it's pretty fine how it is. Maybe suggesting people to use [ s ] when a request is solved but I don't think you should constantly lash at people who don't do stuff the way you like, such as the updates in first post thread. Else it will sound rude to some people and make many feel unwelcome on the forums.

Also adding a sprite request section won't help, because people constantly beg for sprites or ask help in the wrong section anyway (generally the other calc projects/ideas).
