Title: TAO: Main menu screenshot contest!

So, TAO: Unleashed needs a main menu? And since I fail at making anything larger than 1x1, I'm asking YOU to help me out! Best one wins their username/name in the game.

Okay, so the basic idea is it has to have 3 things:
1) The name in it.  Creative, but readable.  TAO is a lot bigger than unleashed.
2) Room for me to have 3 options "Play", "Credits", and "Exit".  There will be a sword about 8 (length) x 5 (height) pointing to each of the Play/Credits/Exit options (Now known as PCE for simplicity).  So, anything like that would work.  If you want to try your hand at the sword, be my guest.
3) It's gotta be very interesting.  The idea is "beasts" unleashed.  It also has the connotation of being Light vs. Dark.  So, anything with that is nice.

I'm looking for monochrome, but if you can give me 3 lvl grayscale, I'll accept that as well.

That would be interesting.  I just don't really fully like the abstract, ya know.  It looks kinda like some snail coming out saying rawr. ;-)  Otherwise, it's nice.

it looks very nice, but the bottom half of the screen being static with so much noise up above is a little odd...
i can think of two things that may help: swapping the top and bottom halves (flipping the PEC section to hang from the top of the screen instead of sticking up from the bottom), or maybe make black "flames" drip from the top of the screen instead of white moving up(although the lettering would have to be black, then, which may not work that well).

I like it flaming, and I think the bottom is kinda stagnant.  How about outlining the letters in black, making the fire (And I hope you'll show me how to code that in asm) go from the bottom up.  Or do something else for the bottom.  The two basic things I see now are:
1) The TAO needs to be readable well enough.  It may be more readable on calc, who knows. ;-)
2) I don't like the beast being there after all, I think that'll be more of a spoiler anyway, so let's not do that.

Hah alright, lemme work on something new.  As for the fire, the code is actually very simple.  I'll give the Axe source right here:

Basically it takes each byte in the upper portion of the screen, OR's a bit onto it, AND's the Title from it, and then puts it back one row up :)

Thanks qwerty.  Okay, so I understand your method from the axe source code, but is there any way to do it using the SafeCopy routine found here (http://wikiti.brandonw.net/index.php?title=Z80_Routines:Graphic:Fastcopy#Safe_Copy).  I'm using this in an app, and so the image it's displaying is only located inside the app, and is therefore not editable, and I don't have two buffers.  Any ideas?  I also, removed the little kyuubi because I didn't fully like it, and I tested it in the app.  Here is the result:

Add flames, and that would be very good.  Maybe do something with unleashed. I like the font for it, btw.

that looks a bit corrupted
also, it's not exactly a title screen, but if you ever have need of it for this project here are sprites for a rotating tao symbol(it's not a full 360 rotation, but the others can easily be filled in by rotating the existing sprites 90 degrees)

That is interesting.  Could you make a 16x16 one?  Not a spinning one, just a nice looking regular one.  I don't think I can use a spinning one, but thanks for the offer.

Mhmm you should probably check the OmnomIRC thread to see. There's no set time when it will come back. It could take between 2 hours and 6 months.

It is a great piece of work. Calcs do that at such a good frame rate, and so smooth and realistic looks wicked
shows the ti-nspire's incompetence

I should upload a tutorial about how to do flames :D I have known how to do them for a really long time but for some reason I have never talked about them until now O.O

I think it would be interesting.  I added the flame, and only need to get the sword moving.  Yet another routine that has the pleasure of existing in ram with everything else.  I might just have to write some of these routines on each page instead of in ram.
