Title: TI-83/84 ports
Post by: quasi_Phthalo on June 20, 2010, 11:37:49 pm
does the z80 processor actually have 256 ports? and are they all used?
besides the plethora of USB ports on the 84, are there any that we still don't know what they're for?

This page (http://wikiti.brandonw.net/index.php?title=Category:83Plus:Ports:By_Address) should hold all the info you need. Don't forget to check the Unknown Ports section.

Are all of those Nspire compatible?

Nope, I don't think so. Probably just the ones used by the OS are supported.

it is possible look at the physical hardware to see what leads where and if there's anything that those great guys might have missed?

I am fairly sure for the 83+ series they missed nothing. BrandonW contributed a lot to this wiki after all ;)

Plus the 83+ came out in 1999, which is 11 years ago

For the Nspire, I don't know, though. It's still rather new.

I think if you try to read or write to other ports, most of them are mirrors of the main ports.

If you can figure out the USB ports, you will become a God.
