Title: How to compress text and pics?

Believe it or not, I was struggling with compression for good few weeks because picture files are too big. However, I don't know where/how. D:
Any ideas/help?

RLE is a pretty common way to do it. There's also Pucrunch (http://ourl.ca/9960).
