Title: Is there any 3D tutorial for Axe ?
Post by: Matrefeytontias on December 28, 2011, 08:33:17 am
Hi guys !

I'm writing with others a tutorial for Axe in French (because I'm French  :P ) and I would learn how to do 3D programs in order to write a part about 3D in the tuto (and a bit for myself too ;D ).

So, do you know where can I have a good tutorial (French or English, no matters) ? Please don't give me a program with a 3D engine, but a link to a tuto (if ever it exists). I'm searching for a tuto about isometric 3D or raycasting, what you could find is welcome.

Thanks in advance !

(Please correct me if I'm wrong :-X )

I haven't seen any tutorial for 3D in Axe, but there's this one (http://www.permadi.com/tutorial/raycast/index.html), wich explains well the basics of raycasting (old tutorial, but yeah.).

Maybe you can pm members, who have already done programs using 3D, so that they can explain you how they did ?

Good luck ! :D

Thanks for the link, ever it's about general raycasting, not especially Axe. No matters, thank you

Someone will finish by post a link, I wish :)

By the way is your tutorial part of Kindermoumoute's Site-du-Zéro Axe tutorial? It might be a good idea to have everything in one place there since he started over a year ago (although I don't know if it's still active and up to date).

Unfortunately I do not know about 3D though. Hopefully you can find a good one somewhere or someone can point you to the right direction (assuming such tutorial exist). EDIT Ninja'd

Yeah, you're right, it's with Kindermoumoute, Wag1, Metallica (from Espace-Ti) and Darkingold for the SdZ. I would to carry all things which could  be very interesting (as 3D or cellular automata) in a single tutorial, looking at how difficult is the search of these infos.

But ... "ninja'd" ? ???

Ah ok that's good to hear. I just wanted to make sure that everyone won't start their own tutorials when there are already existing ones out there, then end up scattering the information all over the Internet, making it harder to find. Of course you gotta make sure the 3D isn't covered right near the beginning of the entire SdZ tutorial, though. :P

Well, that's why 3D is the last chapter of the tuto ;D but as I said, I want to start it as early as possible 'cos it will be veeeeery long, and a little bit for myself too  ;)

I know ;) I gave you that link in case you don't find any in Axe, so that you could translate it in Axe language..

OFFTOPIC :
if you're searching for a cellular automata tutorial, here (http://www.omnimaga.org/index.php?action=articles;sa=view;article=65) :)

Hey, I'm part of the team too (darkingold on the SdZ). 3D would be fine, but it's totally optional, and it would be covered at the end. :D
Btw I've search a lot with Seeks, and I didn't find anything interesting. But we can always try to understand some raycasting programs.  ::)
edit : arf, grilled.

Ah yeah, thanks but this is the one I actually use ;D I didn't need you post the link, but thanks after all ;)

EDIT : Darkingold, please post after me !  ;D That I'd found nothing is one of the cause that I ask for a tuto, don't believe that I hadn't search before ;)
