I have been looking into Axe lately. Although I am not officially working on the calc version of piworld right now (I am working on the pc version) I do want to convert piworld to axe once I do work on it and I have some upgrades in mind. The first thing I want to do is get actual sprites instead of ascii art and the second thing is grayscale graphics.
So are there any good tutorials for Axe about those things? Or will I just have to study example code?

Um, I think Sir has been working on a tutorial/help document (or at least was) a few weeks ago but I don't know where that thread is. Other than that I haven't heard of many things really.
I should probably start rounding up the Axe tutorials and then put them in my tutorial thread...
Edit:
I actually found Sir's document thing, though there really isn't anything usable right now. Here (http://ourl.ca/6067) is the topic.

I think he's putting that off for a while, though.

That'd be helpful. Where is your tutorial thread?

Ya, I wouldn't be surprised with all he has going on plus that Axe isn't finished yet. Was just saying that something is being worked on :)
And it is right here (http://ourl.ca/4541). I should ask someone to sticky it somewhere. If people keep on contributing to it, it could be a very useful thread for people.

That. I think right now he has limited computer access, too. I personally wouldn't take the tutorial release for granted until late June 2011, at least (when his stuff will be away from his parents, most likely)

Actually, it appears to already have been stickied.

yeah I gave it a look and asked around, Tribal, Eeems, and I agreed that it should be stickied so Eeems went ahead and did so :D
