make a submission with a 32x32 character for the talking / selection scenes and a 8x8 one for the in game field with a name
lable it as a boss or a player ^_^ and then once i get a few submissions ill make a poll and you can vote on what to have ^_^

sadly thats impossible as im not really coding much im making a few minor edits to menu and stuff but nothing game mechanics wise
he uses a few undocumented commands which is whats breaking it to begin with i don't think its possible to not use them sorry but you can still play it on computer with wabbit

well atm only bosses really work iambian(me?!?) needs to look threw the enemies code and see whats breaking them
they shoot bullets at 2 x speed ill make a screenie to demonstrate in a bit (have to test a few things with enemies anyway)
and of course you can just make some sprites/nag someone else to (i suck at arm thats the other reason i'm asking ;) )

well they dont have to be full body pics the 32x32 one is in chat/"cutscenes" the smaller one is the one the bullets come out of ^_^

Got bored made a few random backgrounds, and you can see one of the new profiles in action(sprite wise at least)

You should probably flip around the 7x7 dragon I gave you, it's facing down. (I thought you wanted them for a boss character lol. Also I can make another 31x31 facing right if you want)

Nice, i didn't know CaDan engine supported animated backgrounds like in XXR. Looks cool :D

i dunno if this one flickers i could check just give me a but but my guess would be no as they haven't before ^_^
Confirmed no flickering at all on calc except for the small pixelation from dithering that most people come to expect any way it looks really amazing!!!

I can make scrolling backgrounds and such as well with this
I give it a 64xX image where X is any where between 64 and 256 and i can scroll threw it.
In this case i am using jumps of 64 to show 4 seperate images

none that you would notice it slows down script processing a bit as the backgrounds are changed in scripts, and all its doing it changing the pointer to some data.
so it takes all of a few cycles to accomplish so in the end nope no slows downs to the end user

On calc its a bit lighter actually you can see the stars very well on the screenie not so much on calc :/
although that can change as it depends on how complex my scripts are and such will change the grey a wee bit

Har har har. I can't believe you actually got the background scrolling thing to work. Truth be told, I never actually verified that capability of CaDan, so I just left it up to Geekboy to run a test on that. And it seems like it was quite successful. Congrats!
EDIT: Just so you all know, the script system contains a special command that lets you "view" the 256 pixel high background at different points. Changing this at regular intervals allows you to achieve a scrolling effect. Or a 4 screen animation effect.

hey at least that one had no comments where there are comments on some code that are just random having to do with cherries ;). Or in the case of movepat,..do later to complicated <--granted that makes sense ;)

Haha, I believe I posted the 32*32 one and the 8*8 is just the character I used in the original (BASIC && Hybrid) versions. :)

Goodness guys. This is already looking of awesomeness. I'm seriously starting to consider postponing E:SoR to rework the CaDan engine. You know, so it'll be easier to work with.

also iambian NO WAY work on E:SOR. i just need a few bug/sanity fixes here and there that i think will prove sufficient for now. or at least until you need a hard break from it ;)
as for now i need to sprite merth; On cemetech we have Souvik and Kerm debating on making sprites. so we really may need a poll after all wahoo ^_^

It will be a whole new 8xk as it uses a "different" engine than the last one, or so im told.
it will be 2 app pages large which is y i'm trying to jam as much in as i can XD (of quality of course ^_^)

Ok couple things got hammered out with iambian tonight involving internal scripting engine, 90% of what i wanted fixed/added is now implemented.
This means i'm setting saturday as the deadline for sprite entries for Players and Bosses!

also fuck the nazis, I'm not jewish but the shit they pulled was bad, plus then the hindus look bad showing the swastika. especially since most jewish people are either really hardworking or funny (though the ones I know are usually only one and not the other lol)

@ Ashbad: The swastika is not a symbol of hate, the modified versions that the Nazis used was made to be one however. The symbol has been present in Asian cultures and religions long before Germany ever thought to use it. To say the people of a particular religious group look bad for showing it is not only horribly ignorant but offensive too.

It's funny that you should ask what all those icons are for. The game isn't anywhere near "complete" as far as I wanted it to be, so about half of them aren't being used for anything. The screen shot above doesn't actually show what the ones that are being used are used for. So I guess it's up to me?

Ok so good news and bad news
Bad news:
The script systems cd.movepath (allows me to define a table that makes the enemy move in that path with out crazy maths)
is so busted that i might have screwed up my source files
Good News:
I think i have found A way to make my own just have to test it and in all honesty it will be a bit more configurable so no complaints when all is said and done T.T

na i found out what i changed and no i dont need to start over from scratch it just makes it so i have to manually move my characters which just makes it a bit harder than i would have liked ^_^

Much to my Sadness and dismay this project is being put on : HOLD
Reasons: there are just to many bugs with the current build of CaDan more than Iambian and I originally thought and thew few that really need to be fixed are so deep rooted that even we have no idea whats wrong and it will take hours if not weeks to figure them out.
Whats going to happen to every thing you all contributed to this project
Well they might under go some revisions to support the new version of CaDan But they will be used as CaDan is getting a reboot which Iambian hopes to make it better than this version and make the scripting system have a wee bit nicer flow to it ^_^
Till we see more bullets fly in unrelenting streams we put this on the back burner
PS: if i get bored and make some really cool single bullet patterns I might release then as a app with them or something individually just for the hell of it idk yet ^_^
PPS: If any one wants to try to tackle the bugs i'll clean my source files up and send them to you and you can nag me on irc and try to fix it be warned though its not a cake walk of a program to debug any thing in T.T
