The two extra English names in the add-in headers are possibly placeholder data in case Casio wants to add more languages in the future. They even made the .g3l format so that they could add more languages...

Sorry for the double post. I believe most (if not all) of the information about the .g3a file format from the Casio Prizm documentation topic has been added to the wiki. I don't fully understand what z80man has discovered about the checksums, so it would be helpful if he (or someone else) could check that the info on the wiki is correct. We're also working on identifying the languages that are used in the files. If you want to help, here's a list of them. (Characters that could not be read are marked as question marks.)

English:

The germane guess looks correct. PM Yeong with the Korean one, I'm sure he'll know if its Korean or not.

Reading the characters from the file is not possible. I can only post the hex (and its ASCII counterpart, but that is just garbage).

you can't read it in the hex editor  because it is Unicode

added a "readable" file (readable if you can Korean)

The unicode is what made me think it was korean. Yeong is chinese, i thought. Some of the missing characters are part of the reserved unicode section. So the characters like í start with the first byte as E6h and the second byte is some other value.

In the file for the binary data, it seems there are "character maps" which have tokens based on some language id.

Oh, so the Korean names in the add-ins are in Unicode? I thought Casio were going to use more non-standard encodings...

Well, they are korean chars when converted to unicode. They might not be unicode.

On a side note, it would be good to rename the wiki from My mediawiki to Casio PRIZM Hacking Wiki in the title bar.

I've already looked into it. I can change it for every page EXCEPT the main page. It's the way the hosting provider has everything set up. It's also why I haven't put in a favicon :banghead:

Woah that sucks O.O

Are you sure you don't want to host it elsewhere (like the former Omni webspace) or move to Wikidot?

Yeah, true, although you can't really move the data elsewhere and convert it to Wikimedia later if Wikidot ever went under or something, right? As for member page loss, I guess it wouldn't be too bad right now since the Wiki just started.

What I could do is save all of the pages on my computer, then reinstall them on the new server and reset all of the User passwords at the new host.
