My fx-CG10_20 Manager PLUS (90 Day Trial) has expired and uninstalling it doesn't reset the timer, and I have no clue what to change in my registry to reset it. In fact after uninstalling and re-installing it seemed to mess my registry up because now it says there's a problem with my registry and to try re-installing the software, instead of telling me my software expired with absolutely no input box to type a serial number or buy a copy.
I searched Casiocalc.org forums for info and Casio website, to no avail: it seems the paid version of the PRIZM emulator doesn't exist or it's very well hidden.
I'm signed up on Casio site and still nothing there. I can't even figure out where's the paid 9860G emu shopping link. :/
Anybody can point me to the right direction? It would help because now I will never be able to emulate stuff again until the community releases a new emu or something. :(
Thanks in advance.

Try this I can't test it yet as my emulator still works
1. Open your C drive
2. Go to the windows folder
3. find and run regedit.exe
4. open HKEY_CURRENT_USER
5. open Software
6. open CASIO
7. delete fx-CG10_20 Manager PLUS (90 Day Trial)
8. reinstall the emulator
So far I can't find the paid version yet.

I tried that and it didn't work. I no longer get that corrupted registry error, but it still says the trial expired :(. Oh well, I guess it's best to not go into too much details either, though, since it's kinda borderline on forum rules x.x (discussion on how to crack softwares or use them for free instead of paying)

Alright then, if I find some other way I'll be sure to keep it off the forums. But I have some suspicion that the manager uses SecuRom to ensure you don't go over 90 days. imho SecuRom should be illegal software due to its unrestricted access to system resources, registry, and the fact that's it's nearly impossible to remove from your computer.
-
Hmm I see. That sucks then. I don't know much about such software, but can it mess up my computer?

Well, kind of. SecuROM is about as secure as the Nspire OS. :P
I don't think they actually used SecuROM, though... It's probably just something similar.
-
Hmm darn, I hope it's not anything involving like 2048 bit RSA keys or something x.x
-
It might be worth trying to run this from a linux boot with wine if that is at all possible. It might just give you another 90 days until an alternative can be made.
-
I see. I wonder if Linux can be bootable from VMware or something? I would rather not have to install Linux on my computer just to use that.

I don't believe it uses securom, I haven't seen anything about it. The code in it is also not obfuscated.

On a side note, I went to Wal-Mart and Staples this afternoon, and still no Prizm there :'(
-
Were they just out of stock, or do they not carry them yet? Also, where did you get yours from?
-
I think they just don't carry them. I fear Staples over here just ditched Casio graphing calcs or the Prizm will not be sold in Canada. I got mine from Ebay.
-
I just had my trial expire :banghead:
-
@ DJ Ah, ok. I don't know if you guys have Best buy electronic stores, but that might be a good place to check too(if the chain is in Canada). Now that I think about it I don't know if the Wal-marts in my area have them. I'll have to check...
-
We got Future Shop stores, which are owned by Best Buy (and are almost the same thing) but I couldn't find any graphing calc there. Zellers in Quebec city got calcs but only the 83+ is available.
-
Secondly, how did you get the full version?
Well, in any case, welcome! ;D
-
First of all, welcome. :)
I have the full version ;D
Secondly, how did you get the full version?
I thought I had the full version, but I didn't. Sorry for the confusion :)
-
Also note that even if you had it you cannot distribute it on the forums nor via PM here, since it would be illegal and lead to troubles with Netham45 host.

FINALLY!

$199.99 is a bit much, though, for an emulator, considering the calc costs half less sometimes... I might get it anyway, though. It was about time Casio makes the paid version available for purchase too.

Yeah, a bit overpriced indeed.
