Okay, once again, I'm going to be working on moving it all to a new server. Hopefully this one won't have the issues the other one did, so I won't have to revert after 12 hours.
OmnomIRC/netham45.irc.omnimaga.org/SpyBot45 is going to be periodically down throughout the day today, though I don't expect it to be down for more than an hour total. Please don't make threads when they're down. :P

What the other server had? You may want to complain to your provider, if not done/relevant.
-
Hopefully that turns out well. I noticed your connection was quite crappy the other day, though. I think juju or someone else had to !kb you due to join flood. D:

I am planning to reboot my server sometime soon since 633 MB of my memory is "used"... or should I say, robbed by the kernel and not giving it back? :P MC isn't even running, and there's only 130 MB of RAM left... but yeah, withg.us.to is going down too soon.
Any people on the server should stay in their chans until your bots are back up, and anything hosted on withg.us.to's IRC server (irp.irc.omnimaga.org) should be switched temporarily.
-
How long will it remain down?
-
Depends. If Cooliojazz (who manages the IRC server) is up at the moment, downtime should be minimal - at most 5-10 minutes, 30 if my VPS is being slow. If he's not on, I might end up starting it myself, which may take time.
I'm hoping to time the reboot so that he's on when I do it, and most (if not all) of the people on my server are in their chans and can start up their bots quickly. :)
-
Ah ok. I was worried about downtimes à la Dragon-Fire (our former IRC location), which averaged around 3 months.
-
I got delayed by some stuff yesterday and didn't get to it, I'm going to hopefully be doing it in the next hour or so. I'm expecting my downtime to be around 10 minutes.
-
Ah ok I wasn't sure if the earlier downtime yesterday was due to the move or not.I know there was a netsplit but I didn't know if the bots moved already or not.

Oh no, no worries about that! :) There are still two servers that are part of OmniNET besides mine and Netham's. As soon as I feel good about rebooting (that is, my users know about it and are ready), I will do a quick reboot which shouldn't last too long :)
-
Ah ok good.
Also Idk if that's because the move isn't complete yet Netham45, but it seems the move worsened OmnomIRC conditions: O.O
1) It takes about 10 seconds for OmnomIRC to load and to send each line of text
2) SpyBot45 nickname is no longer truncated in OmnomIRC when it notifies of posts.
-
1) Not bad for me
2) Haven't been truncated for quite some time.
-
Ah ok. It must be something on my end then. However I hope it is not permanent. Right now it seems fine, though.

Haven't tried recently, but it was really laggy for sending lines of text for me earlier too.
-
Yeah now it's pretty fine.
Also question: So far has OmnomIRC stopped working only when it is inactive for a while, or if it's always server-side-related?
-
Basically, the mIRC bot hates its own existence, so it wants to make it as hard for me as it can be.
It's a problem with the mIRC Sql plugin I'm using leaking resources until it eventually just fails completely.
-
Ouch that sucks. I guess it definitively needs to be switched to a PHP bot or something x.x
-
Didn't feel like opening a new thread to post this, but OmnomIRC has been moved to the PHP bot for efnet #omnimaga.
Omnimaga.org IRC is currently seperated, though, as the linker bot was dependent on mIRC OmnomIRC. I'll get that fixed soon, that'll be a simple fix.
-
Cool to hear. Hopefully this helps.
Do you think Omnimaga-Fr will also return soon? This might help with the recent upsurge in french users.
