ben_g went on OmnomIRC recently, even though he only had 9 posts. Is the post requirement implemented?

Nope, he was clearly using OmnomIRC, and he asked us why he didn't need 40 posts anymore.

For some reasons the small box was set to 9 posts minimum. Netham45 might have forgotten to set it back to 40 while testing. Fixed, now.

I already thought there was something wrong with it, and I thought writing it there was the fastest way to tell it. It wasn't meant as a spam or something, I was only doing it to help.
btw: It's quite scary to see an entire thread abouth yourself a short time after you did something...

ben_g, you did absolutely nothing wrong. This thread is about the bug and not about you - I just mentioned you in case someone wanted to look up what happened in the logs :)

Nah don't worry about it. It was a good idea to report it, too, in case this might have been a glitch. :) In the future such glitch could have taken us by surprise, if for example a bot posted.
A few months ago we discovered another glitch that caused people with exactly 1337 or 100000 posts to not be able to use OmnomIRC either, due to a SMF easter egg interfering with it.

It would surprise me if bots knew how to use an Omnimaga-exclusive feature :P

It depends, certain bots fills every form they can find. I wouldn't be surprised if there were bots that kept typing "buy cialis online" in the search box at the top of the site.
But yeah when nDoom made it to EncyclopediaDramatica forums...

Don't worry, you did the right thing. We wouldn't even have known about it otherwise. Who knows, you might have saved us from someone who really did plan to spam :)

Well if you were someone like Mkrakoplaz who had 40+ ratings before he reached 40 posts then that should be allowed for IRC. But I didn't reach 40 respect until I was around 600 or so posts. But actually if someone already has maybe 5 or so respect then omnom permissions seem like they should be granted. The only exception would be if a bot posted another blue lobster recipe causing it to go on Omnom.

Yup, I lowered it so Genolo could help me test it (he only had 31 posts or something), and forgot to raise it back.

It was. Another of our member has like -18 but at least he tries to behave, considering his age.
