Sometimes, the occasional message send via omnomIRC will repeat later in the channel.
-
I am glad it did not go as bad as with turiqwalrus, though O.O
-
This happens to me too when I'm in windows! ( it hardly happens when I'm in Mint ). Netham has no idea what's causing it, and neither do I, and I've looked into it a little.
-
If you guys can get me the timestamps off of both messages and your timezone, I can go check the logs to see if I see anything different about them.
I have a suspicion it has to deal with parental filters, I've had issues with those before.

I have no filters installed. The incident started at 9:30:26 AM today, according to your EFNet logs.

If you guys can get me the timestamps off of both messages and your timezone, I can go check the logs to see if I see anything different about them.
I have a suspicion it has to deal with parental filters, I've had issues with those before.
Erm, you'd have to look back a couple months for me, since I hardly use it anymore due to this.
I also don't have parental filters so it wouldn't be that for me.

That's unrelated to OmnomIRC, somehow two instances of the backend got started.
-
It never happened to me, but Keoni found a way to fix it by using a proxy. However, not all of us are willing to use proxies.
-
Keoni's was due to a parental filter his ISP employed that was constantly changing IPs, so I couldn't block it.
I'm thinking of adding a unique request ID that's invalid for 5 minutes or so after it's used.
-
SirCmpwn's OmnomIRC posts have a nasty habit of repeating themselves after a few minutes, no idea why.
-
Merging into this topic: http://ourl.ca/11952/225676 (http://ourl.ca/11952/225676)
-
Whoops, I thought that was a different issue. Sorry.
-
I believe his are due to a proxy he's using.
-
I'm connecting to the internet straight up, no proxy.
-
Ah, okay. Do you have any browser extensions or such installed? google toolbar, etc...?
-
None. It's just me and my browser (Chrome and Firefox)
-
Could it be ISP-related? I know for example with the old OmnomIRC, Ashbad was unable to open Omni.
-
I have this issue as well still with my main computer. No proxy, not an issue with my isp because it doesn't do this to me on my laptop, or my iTouch. It happens on a windows 7 machine running Fx5. It could be my anti-virus possibly. This computer uses Trend Micro.
I can give a full list of Fx addons if you want.
-
It seems to happen with Deep Thought (Opera) and Loulou 54 too now ???. Just double messages, not spam, but still double posts.
-
I have Mozilla 5.0
-
Do you mean (Mozilla) Firefox 5.0? The Mozilla browser has been succeeded by Firefox.
-
I didn't know Mozilla still existed? I thought the last version was from Early 2004 or something, then was replaced by Firefox... O.O
-

I sure he means Firefox, but I suppose you could call it Mozilla too - it's Mozilla Firefox. http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/new/
-
I have a thought: it might be a latency issue. A packet get's sent, and Omnom lags just enough for it to be resent by the PC before omnom responds. Omnom's confirmation comes, the PC assumes it was for the second packet, and omnom posts the message twice.
Is that possible? Then it would just be a lag issue.
-
I dont like it is annoying
-

Yes I mean Firefox 5.0 (but I have the 6.0 now ^^) Sorry I didn't knew there was a difference.. :/

Firefox used to be a stripped down version of Mozilla that didn't have all the features (Thunderbird, etc...) iirc.
As far as the message duping goes, I think I've came up with a way to stop it. I just have to get it implemented.
-
It seems to happen with Deep Thought (Opera) and Loulou 54 too now ???. Just double messages, not spam, but still double posts.
For me I think it was because Opera lagged suddenly and read my Enter key twice.
-
Hmm actually it could be that if the message did not send yet, we are tempted to press enter again, but in my case they only send once anyway.
-
The first time that happened I had indeed pressed Enter twice (while Opera lagged), but the second time it happened I had made sure to press it only once, so I'm thinking Opera froze entirely and somehow messed up my keypress.
-
Hey cool! Who else over here uses opera? I love it!
-
DJ_O, I think, and a handful of others here.
