I'm not sure how many people have this problem, but when I try to log on to EFNet using my IRC chat client, I cannot connect. According to the server messages, the proxy that the cellphone service that I have uses is blacklisted, so I am unable to connect to anywhere on the EFNet network.
That being said, I would like to suggest a separate page where one can view a mobile version of OmnomIRC. It needn't be anything fancy, but I'd like to be able to chat without having to scroll several screens to get between the chat and the chatbox. In the mobile version of Opera (I've got an Optimus M, running Android 2.2.1) that separation is due to the names list being in between.
In short, I would like to see a mobile version of OmnomIRC.
Thanks for your time and all the cherries!

That would be nice. It should be added in the links at the top of the current box too, if that's ever made.
-
Hmm, I'll look into possibly making a webkit based one (with sencha touch) and/or one with jquery that is good for all devices with javascript. These wont be the official ones of course if Netham wants to make his own :P
-
Could there also be a downloadable mobile Omnom client that works with touchscreen phones that don't have physical keyboards? Pretty Please?
-
Erm, don't know if downloadable will be possible, I'm pretty sure what I'm going to make will work for you.
This reminds me I need to bug Netham about the API he uses for omnomirc.

Making a
biodegradable downloadable client sounds like it'd be ridiculously hard for little benefit over a webpage.
Eeems, check your PMs.
Edit: the hell? 'biodegradable'? Screw you too spellecheck.
-
Well, it would allow people like me with buggy cellphone browsers to fully participate in the #omnimaga experience.

Lol at the spellcheck X.x

I've PM'd eeems all he should need to make something like this.
-
It would be nice if it was possible. I assume it would still interface with people accounts, right?
-
The reason I asked for the cellphone app is because most cellphone web browsers don't support automatic refreshing, defeating a mobile IRC webpage.

Yep you have :) Thanks!

I'm not quite sure how to as of yet. I'll have to talk to Netham about how he does it, although I'm going to to wait until after I get some of the preliminary stuff done.

Mobile Phone development is too phone-specific to make it a viable target. We can't possibly support all the >9000 different phones that are out there, the closest we can get is this.
-
Yah true, this is why often mobile requests won't get answered.

/me is sad.
Stupid nonstandardization!
