Hey calcfreak89, welcome here!

I'm glad you are also working on this project. I can't wait to see what you guys will come up with. :)

Also, HOMER-16 you can still use my music as long as you give me credits (as stated in the PM). Some might just not fit well, but hopefully maybe you'll find songs that fit at the right place. Just keep in mind Quest for the Legendary Axe is re-used at other places as well (such as the Axe Parser tribute and Eee Zor intro videos) so it may not sound as original.

I like the game ideas so far. :)

Thank you. Not to worry, listening to the songs I'm positive that they fit the theme of the game. At least in some part.

Oh and to MRide, also the game itself has a dark undertone. So that could be the mood for most of the music for this game.

Spoiler For IMPORTANT NEWS!:
Late last night, Quebec was invaded by a group calling themselves, "Omnimaga". Not much is known about these mysterious people except that they all carried calculators of some kind and they all seemed to converge on one house in particular. Experts estimate that the combined power of their fabled calculators is greater than all the worlds super computers put together. The group seems to be holding out in the home of a certain DJ_O, who the Omnimagians claim to be their founder. Such power has put the world at a standstill with everyone waiting to see what the Omnimagians will do...

Wait... This just in, the Omnimagians have sent the UN a list of demands that must be met or else the world will be "submitted to the wrath of Netham45's Lobster Army". Such demands include >9001 crates of peanuts, sacrificial blue lobsters, and a wide assortment of cherry flavored items. With such computing power stored in the hands of such people, we can only hope these demands are met.

In the wake of these events, we can only ask, Why? Why do these people make these demands, what caused them to gather, and what are their future plans...

All right, here is an unfinished first few ideas, just to see if they're the kind of thing you're looking for.

It's good. I think some of the detail with the violin(?) is obscured a bit. But this could make for a good boss fight or something to that effect.

For regular battles I think the mood should be more inspiring to the player. This one gives off a feeling of determination. (perfect for a boss fight)

That reminds me of some Final Fantasy VI music. I like the style.

Thanks.  I'm not used to writing like this.  The instruments are cello and timpani, btw. That idea is not finished, but I'll keep it if you like it.
So, more inspiring?  Then brass instruments are probably in order.

Yeah I think brass instruments would be nice. I also like the effect violins can give sometimes too.

Sounds like a cool idea. Good luck with it. What kind of art are you looking for? Pixel art?

I like the song by the way, Mride. The only thing I found is the timpani beats that were just in open air. They just seemed a bit out of place with no other music playing. But still great job and like the style :)

Full color I assume? Not that I can probably help, just thought people should know before spending a bunch of time on something you can't use. Also, a good place to look/recruit is DeviantArt. So many talented artists on there that might help.

I have to ask: when do you want the music by?  I don't need an exact date, but some like in one week, one month, a few months, sometime before December 2012, etc. would be helpful.

Well, we want to finish the game by May or June, however, we have all the time in the world to make the game. (What we might do is release a lower quality version of the game in May-June then a higher quality with which it would just be "done when it's done")

So how many different pieces do you want?  If I use the idea I already have for a boss fight...
Do you want one for normal battles, then one for each boss?  And will you need other sounds for out of battle gameplay?

Ok. Lets see. We'll need one for normal battles, one for normal bosses, and two for major bosses. One will be against a certain "legendary" daemon (aptly called "The Daemon" :P ) And another against the boss of the corporation.(Who will be the final boss)

Other than that we'll need a theme for the main character. I'm thinking two versions of it, one sort of light-hearted perhaps with flutes, and another darker, more intense.
