Hahaha, my mom does that too. XDsmiley.gif She's a total energy saving freak and turns off my computers when I'm not around.

that sucks. My parents are not fond of machines up all the time, but leave them alone, because they never know what it is doing at the moment.

Yeah, that sucks for most people. Lucky for me, my parents only know stuff about macs, not PC's, so I am kind of the PC expert in my family. They don't turn off the computer because they don't know when I scheduled all the virus-scan, xfire, wc3 banlist, virus scan update, *insert random program* update tasks. Also, my dad did a kind of a stupid thing by installing Skype on my laptop of all the computers in the household and he uses it frequently to call my grandparents and vice versa. My grandparents start scolding my dad if they want to call us but our Skype account is offline (usually means either the laptop is turned off, the drivers aren't working properly, the internet died, or I did something nasty to Skype :rainbowdevil:rainbowdevil.gif ). This frustrates my dad, so my parents almost NEVER turn off my laptop.

My parents don't like it, but since I'm always complaining about automated matinance tasks, trying to keep the 6 to 10 servers I have up, and now my wireless network, they let me keep it on 24/7 unless the weather is bad.

Well, if there's a thunderstorm, obviously you should turn your stuff off and unplug 'cause even surge protectors can get pwned.

yeah.

btw, with your issue, if you can't get recovery mode to work, then you might want to get the 7.04 disk.
