Title: Contra userbar (350x57 or 350x19)
Post by: Deep Toaster on April 09, 2011, 11:19:26 pm
What do you think? My first real Gimp creation ;D

So support the Contra project! Yeah, I kinda ripped that idea from another thread <_<

And sorry if it's too big. I'll work on a normal-sized one (350x19, one-third the height) soon.

Very pretty!

Thanks, and if you didn't realize it yet the colors give way to B/W in the lower half to represent calc'ifying the game :D
/me lost the Game too

Thanks. Any suggestions before I start on the normal-sized version?

I don't think it is too big as it's now. Wouldn't making it smaller force you to remove detail?

I agree, it looks fine as-is. No need to make it smaller.

K, thanks. I just figured more people could use it if it were a standard size :)

Thanks. Can you see the background color change easily? I can see it on this Windows PC but only barely on a Mac, even with brightness turned all the way up.

Well I see the black at the bottom and the top got a gray part, if that's what you mean.

I think on Mac colors are slightly different.

Yeah, that's good. Not too sure why userbars have that curved highlight, but I added it anyway (as with convention) ;D I think it's for a 3D effect, but it doesn't work too well when you look at it closely.

Well, this userbar is more of an Author userbar to show progress.  If you want one for supporters, probably a standard size one with the logo and text saying "Project Supporter" or something.  ;)

Yeah, yeah, I'll do that. Good idea.

But is it really supposed to being to see the C and the bottom part of the other letters?

I completely redesigned both userbars (still in the first post). If you don't see the new design (flat, blue, and dark red), hard-refresh the page (Shift+Ctrl+R) until you do.

And nope, the project's not dead ;D
