Title: Correlation Resumed At a Slower Pace
Post by: Hot_Dog on May 02, 2011, 10:22:53 am
I've gotten confidence back to work on Correlation.  However, the laptop incident taught me that life is too important to spend "all day" on calculators ;)

Anyways, I have the beta to work with, and I will work on it a little bit each day, every day that I can.  My first step is getting my custom parser to work.

Remember to back up frequently this time.  ;)

I'm glad you are reviving this. I was worried for a while. It's ok if it's at a slower pace, though, just as long as you don't quit programming it completely ;D

Yay!
I hope it doesn't get too boring rewriting the same thing. :-\  Good luck!

Hurrah! And good luck with the rewriting. It's just too easy to lose motivation when you hit the same bugs again :-\

Hope this goes well!

Hopefully very little rewriting.  Most of the stuff I can disassemble and cut/paste.  Otherwise Word Wrap would be toast ;D

Plus, I notice that when I recode the same thing enough times (I do get enough crashes and lose my programs before I back up...), I tend to make it smaller or faster or more optimised in some way, so this might actually be a silver lining!

Hey, that's true :) Hope it all works out.

Okay, I've put Correlation off long enough.  My goal is to work on it again, but it's going to be much simpler.  Basically, I'm taking what I already have and fixing the bruises.  Here are the things that Correlation will now have:

* Fonts are strictly homescreen, 16x16 or 8x8 (You can still convert an old TI-Basic game to use Correlation!)
* Word Wrap (Though I'm not going to baby it up like I did last time)
* Map Mode / Clip Mode / Wrap Mode
* Abs( for substrings
* Collections of fonts
* Animated Text
* Compatability with Xlib / Celtic III / Doors / etc.

 O.O Oh wow, when I saw the post I figured it was something minor. Good news everyone!  ;D

Nice to see this picked up again. Good luck and make sure to do lots of backups of your stuff :D (hoping it's possible during your trip if you ever decided to continue coding then). Good luck! :D
