Title: An Indie Game Demo I Found - CrossCode
Post by: pimathbrainiac on June 04, 2015, 12:57:17 am
So while looking for some freebie stuff to play on GameJolt, I stumbled upon a little gem of a demo for a game called CrossCode (http://gamejolt.com/games/rpg/crosscode/47920/). Holy crap this demo is probably the best demo for any game I've ever seen. Seriously, play it yourself. The premise is very SAO-esque, but it doesn't feel like an SAO ripoff (since you appear to be the only real person trapped in the game). As for the gameplay, think top down Zelda mixed with those disk thingies from Tron. The graphics are also beautiful. The demo has the first little bit, a dungeon/puzzle to play through, and a little bit of open world exploration. I suggest you check out the demo. It is amazing.
The official website is here (http://www.cross-code.com/).

I just downloaded and played the demo, and it was a fun game. It's on of those games that proves that graphics don't have to be HD to look beautifull. The gameplay also deffinately has potential, but I only played the demo (which is pretty much a tutorial), so I don't know how it'll work later in the game.

It's €19,99 on steam though, which seems quite expensive to me for a game that's still in beta.

Well, they updated the demo to be less featured than the old one was. You can use wayback to get the old demo, which has the first dungeon and some overworld stuff. Also, yeah, I don't early access games, so I'm not putting any money on it yet, but when it is finished, if I can, I'll buy it.

Unfortunately, wayback doesn't seem to like my slow, unstable internet connection and it keeps aborting my download after a few megabytes. Looks like I'm stuck with less content for now.
