Title: Armagetron advanced
Post by: Stefan Bauwens on February 26, 2011, 01:13:50 pm
Yeah, I know I'm new here but when I saw this topic, I couldn't resist talking about this game.
I play armagetron advanced a few month now and its really cool, epic.
Many people like playing fortress or sumo, but I prefer Wildcat.

(Armagetron advanced is a FREE tron game in 3d, for mac, windows and linux)

What's the game's website?

@Scout
I think he means just the Gaming Discussion sub-forum.

I believe this is the game we played in College around 2003-04. That was cool. I kinda got bored after a while, though, because I sucked really bad at it. D:

I'm actually quite good at this game.

This kind of style I play.

(I play against this guy, in the vid)

Is it me or does that look hard? O.O (especially with the shaky camera)

It is quite hard at first. But its ok. The guy playing is thé best in this server.
The cool thing is you can 'double bind'.
This is you can set your keys, having 2(or more) for each direction.
If I set j and k for right, d and f for left and when I press j and k o r d and f at the same time I turn 180 degrees, grinding on my old path.
Really cool.

Oh that's nice. Sometimes I wish we had that in Snake games and a few other types of games :P

I just read my post, and I saw I wrote wrong. I wrote it like I'm the guy playing against the guy in de vid(awen t), but I meant I play sometimes against him.
Sorry if I made you misunderstand me.

It's ok ^^, and for snake games I meant both computer and calcs.

Ok, but I don't think you could have doublebinding in a ti-basic game, because you can't(thats what I think) press two keys at the same time having the same 'job'. For example pressing j and k on the calc at the same time,in a basic game would't have any effect.

Yeah I know, it would have to be either in Axe, ASM or use Celtic III/DCS (which allows BASIC games to have multiple keypresses)
