Title: Favorite Classic Mega Man Games
Post by: Hot_Dog on January 09, 2013, 01:50:36 pm
I only played Mega Man 3, but I absolutely loved it!  The music, the graphics, the gameplay, and the music, the music, the music!  Did I say the music?

Do Mega Man Battle Network games count? If they do my favorite is the 6th one.

Add the MegamanX series to the list.

this poll would make a lot more sense if broken up into serieses, e.g.
Megaman Classic
Megaman X
Megaman ZX
Megaman Legends
Megaman Battle Network
other (Megaman Soccer goes here :P)

I didn't realize that there were that many.  I'm renaming the topic to "Classic" games

/me really loves 2,3, and 4
2 introduces the iconic 8 boss level select, 3 introduces sliding, and 4 introduces buster charging. after that, they all sort of feel like rehashes (although definitely still fun to play).

I personally played Mega Man 2, 3 and 9, along with Mega Man X 1 through 3. I also played one of the early Game Boy Mega Man games. I personally didn't like Mega Man 9 because it was way too hard, but I kinda liked the other classic ones. Of course I liked the X series (especially X-2) too.

I think I played Mega Man 7 too, but not as much. For some reasons the graphics seemed kinda strange in that one ??? (or maybe it's due to being used so much to Mega Man X series)

I think 2, 9, and 6 are my favorites. If you ask most fans, they tend to cite Megaman 2 as being the best hands down. If you haven't played 2 yet you definitely should. :)

i wonder if that has anything to do with 2 being the easiest. i guess it could be the bosses too, though. metal man and quick man are really cool.

I would say 5 is the easiest. I think it has to do more with the fact that 2 gets the original formula down perfectly. It also lacks the charge shot and slide. Both of which largely changed the original series.

huh, after trying it again, 5 does seem really easy. all the enemies were conveniently placed for easy shooting, and it seemed like 1 out of 5 item drops was a life. i guess maybe the illusion of 2 being easier might just be from having played it so much more than the others (although metal man is still a really easy place to start, and his weapon makes all the other levels a lot easier too).

Yea, you get so many extra lives in 5 it's insane. I don't know if that was intentional or if they accidentally set the drop rate too high. And I agree about MM2. I've played that game to death and it doesn't get old for me. ^^

*edit*Aside from 5 being really easy (the bosses are programmed to be easy too) I still really enjoy it. It's pretty well designed aside from it being really easy.

For me, megaman 2,3, and 6.
For me megaman 6 was the easiest because of that jetpack thingy lol.
And I really dig mm2 and mm3 musics.
