Sorry, when I saw that link I couldn't resist giving it a name/slogan idea. ;D

Anyway joking aside, when the 8th gen consoles get announced like Playstation 4, Xbox 720 and whatever might come out in the future, I wonder if Apple will try to enter the gaming console market for real? I can imagine they would charge obscene prices for consoles, but I'm really curious if that could happen and what kind of stuff they would innovate with and what it would be called (I assume iGame or iConsole)... :P

iLost...

Well, Apple is already in the portable console market with the iPod/iPhone/iPad, they could just turn the Apple TV into a full-fledged gaming console and there we go, Apple can compete with Nintendo, Sony and Microsoft. Note that all the companies I mentioned were in something else before getting in gaming consoles.

Hmm, interesting. They already have a gaming device(ipod touch), so if they have a console it should have the same interface imo.
Oh, I lost.

Yeah true, what I think they could do is create a device that is much more powerful while being larger/not portable and require a TV, like the Wii, PS3 and 360. It would obviously be the same interface. It wouldn't be guaranteed to work, though, seeing what happened with Sega in the late '90s and what happened with the PS3 in its first 3 years (barely any game and lagging behind in sales, to a certain extent), plus they would need to charge a reasonable price so people buy it.

Maybe something like iPlay, to keep with the sort of iP* theme?

Anyway looks interesting.  Never gonna give up the calcs tho ;D
